It was a day like any other, the doves cooing and clouds flowing steadily. The grass was green and soft, like a cloud made of clovers. The blue sky stretched as far as the eye can see. It was serene, it could make all your worries melt away. The breeze was gentle and cool, a beautiful contrast to the burning ball in the sky. Everybody was happy, the flapping of white wings could be heard on occasion.

The markets were bustling at this time of day, wealthy and impoverished gathered there all at once to make use of the money they have. Some looked for the cheapest while others looked for the most expensive items. Everybody wanted something but not everybody could get something. Many merchants were calling out to citizens and making deals with them. Many citizens left with something the merchant sold them.

Tranquility was heaven's finest luxury. You could sit in a tree or walk until the grass beneath your feet disappears into nothing. Everyone loved it, mostly everyone. There was a mother nearing her due date. Oh, how she despised the little vampire growing in her. She wished it was never there, but it was and now she couldn't get rid of it. She'd have to carry it and hope it wouldn't ruin her life, again.

Nothing, there was nothing for the mass growing in her. No crib, no toys, no clothes, not even a name. She couldn't fathom giving a name to the horrendous being growing in her womb. It made her sick. It made her want to rip it out of her. To destroy it.

A young girl, about 10 years old, was at her side. Her eldest child and the only child she kept after her husband left her. She had 4 others but her husband took them after the news of her infidelity reached him. He took her kids, their house, their car, and left. She should've seen this coming but lust and greed hindered her vision. She wanted what she lost back.

A baby's cry and a mother's screams. The beautiful sound of life. A gift. A curse. The baby was hideous. Beautiful honey skin marred by an espresso color. An icy blue eye impared by its blood red companion. It was baby boy. He had a yellow halo and jet black hair. He was a curse bestowed on his poor mother.
