- Never Let Me Go, Florence and the Machines

___________

Belladonna reached the train station an hour after she was reaped. She had been unable to draw her eyes from the window as rain had poured onto her through the bars. Of course it had started raining, Belladonna thought it cliche. The rain had soaked her and yet she couldn't find it in herself to care, how could she when she knew she would never see her family again?

"It's time to go." A peacekeeper said as he opened the door to the railcar, hopping into the back and grabbing Belladonna roughly by the arm.

Another peacekeeper came and grabbed Reaper, and to Belladonna's surprise Reaper didn't protest at all. He looked as if he could probably take both peacekeepers easily, and yet he didn't as much as even flinch when the peacekeeper grabbed his arm and hauled him off the back of the trailer.

Belladonna didn't put up a fight either as the peacekeeper hauled her from the trailer and shoved her into a dirty railcar with dust and moths flying around. Two more people were in the railcar, surprising Belladonna.

There was a girl and a boy and Belladonna quickly realized that they were the district 12 tributes. They must be picking up the tributes, starting with 12 and ending in the capitol.

The girl looked up at Belladonna, her hazel eyes sparkling with life. The girl was wearing a rainbow dress, her hair in perfect waves and her face covered in a hint of makeup. Compared to Belladonna this girl looked wonderful.

The boy however looked like he had been dragged through mud and hadn't showered in days. His eyes were bloodshot and his body shook slightly. Belladonna couldn't help but feel pity for the boy.

"And who might you be?" The girl in the rainbow dress asked with a polite smile.

"Belladonna Winslow." Belladonna responded. "Who are you?" She asked back.

The girl smiled. "Lucy Gray Baird. It's very nice to meet you." She said, standing up and reaching a hand out to Belladonna, who took it. "And that man right there is Jessup." Lucy Gray said, motioning her hand to the man on the ground.

Reaper was shoved into the railcar, pulling his arm away from the door quickly as the peacekeeper shut it. Lucy Gray turned her gaze to him.

"Real buggers aren't they?" She said, referring to the peacekeepers. Reaper looked up at Lucy Gray.

"Well they ain't fun." Reaper responded as the train began to move, making Belladonna lose her balance and almost fall over.
