Part 18: Timing

"Oh are we going?" I ask curiously trying not to seem suspicious. Victoria seems to be thinking about it but nods "yes we will go it'll give us a chance to reveal or new found mate." I let out an internal sigh.

I think for a second "What the hell is a ball?" I look at them confused.

"What do you mean what's a ball? Oh nevermind a ball is where we go to wear pretty outfits and engage with other royals and nobles" Evelyn says with a big smile.

Victoria just frowns. "What's wrong with you?" She shakes her head grumbling as she drinks her wine or blood who knows.

Evelyn answers for her "She's just a bit upset because her brother will be there.' "What's wrong with her brother- a lot" I'm interrupted by Victoria

I nod feeling a bit uncomfortable by the tension in the room.  "Will Tokyo be attending" I ask the messenger. The messenger nods "indeed every high royal is expected to be attending."

I smile and thank him before going back to eating. A few moments later the servants bring out the dessert platter.

My smile is wiped off my face quickly. "Are y'all ready to try my grandmas recipe?" Evelyn smiles big and wide.

I rub my stomach and fake groan. "I'm too full actually" her smile falls a bit but understands and turns to Victoria.

"Well that leaves more for us." Victoria looks at me with a bit of fear. She stands up quickly. "I'm not in the mood for pie at the moment my love even though I love your food so much" she fake smiles.

I laugh in my head but I stop when I see Evelyn stop smiling and nods but tears up. "How about tomorrow we go on a picnic and eat it" i say feeing a bit guilty.

She smiles and wipes her tear. I let out a sigh as she walks away and informs the maids making plans for tomorrow's picnic.

Victoria look at me. "What?" "Nothing she walks to her office. So I go somewhere to busy myself that's when I realize I just got myself out of their damn punishment.

"YESSSS!" I shut my mouth quickly. Hushing myself I go to my room and take a nap from this stressful day.

Foot steps pound and the sound of a sword dragging on the steel floor is heard.

'You thought you could leave us darling' Victoria says with a menacing grin.

Her long nails drag along my cheek bone. 'I told you,you can't ever leave'
She snaps her fingers and a tall muscular man comes in.

He licks his dry lips and huffs loudly as he gets closer. When he speaks I can smell the nasty smell of beer and cigarettes laced in the air.

'You are one pretty looking thing aren't you.' He pulls out a small knife and grazes it across my skin.

"Wake up my love" I'm shaken woke and I breath heavily drenched in sweat. My vision starts clearing and I look up to see Evelyn with a worried look.

"Are you ok? we heard you screaming" she asks as she wiped me with a towel.

"I'm fine" I push her hands off me. As I stand up still a bit shaken. This past week my nightmares have increased and my power has become greater.
