"I wish to propose an engagement between you and my son."

Ladies and gentlemen of the ton, indulge me as I bring to you news of our nation's victory on the frontlines, owed to none other than Prince Cassius. A war hero, as expected of our gallant prince, but according to my most trusted confidantes, a scandalously enigmatic gentleman too! He holds a beauty so bewitching that no woman dares aspire to covet it.

But fear not, my esteemed gathering, for I believe we may have a contender - this season's diamond herself. For those unaware, let it be known that Lady Avelyn was bestowed this illustrious honour — and the only one poised to rival the resplendence of the Prince himself.  Or, could it be that the lady has set her sights on a more regal prize—the Crown Prince, perhaps? Oh, the intrigue! Such enamouring possibilities.

Much to our surprise, however, it seems that the city's bachelors has swarmed to the Agriche Estate, of all places. Lady Anelise, once veiled in shadows, now emerges into the radiant light of attention, and like moths to a flame, Veridia's finest hasten to seize their opportunity...

The Queen's eyes lingered briefly on the unsettling words, before setting aside the gossip gazette, long consumed by thoughts.

"Indeed, the return of the illegitimate prince has shifted the court dynamics Your Majesty. It seems as though his triumph at war has earned favour among the nobles. And even, the King himself."

Queen Elodia, her expression unreadable, nodded in acknowledgment. "It is time to recalibrate the balance, Lord Ravenfeld. We mustn't allow his fleeting success jeopardise the stability we so painstakingly upheld."

"What is it you propose we do, Your Majesty?"

"Whatever is necessary to solidify Elysander's position as Crown Prince." She paced thoughtfully. "Only heaven knows, this child cannot be held within whims."

"Is there something you wish me to handle personally?"

"No need, I have attended to it personally."

"As expected of Your Excellence." Satisfied, Ravenfeld's head drops in silent tribute to the regal authority before him, yet he remained blissfully unsuspecting to the tempest, gathering in her words.

"I shall see to it that he is engaged. That should serve as a reminder of the weight of his duties."

Her loyal advisor's expression faltered. "Pardon my insolence, Your Majesty, but an engagement?!"

Just then, a sudden knock resonated through the room and a liveried footman bowed before her, announcing the lady's presence.

"Send her in."

The young lady curtsied with practiced elegance, before being invited to take a seat at the luxuriously large table.

"I have been following the season's events with great interest, and your charm Lady Anelise, has not gone unnoticed." The Queen began, her eyes calculating and assessing her each move. "Word has reached me that you have captured the attention of many suitors."

"I am deeply honoured — It is owed to Your Majesty's esteemed guidance that I was able to make such an exemplary debut."

"I anticipate great things from you in the future. But let us get into the matters at hand, for I have summoned your presence with purpose."
