Chapter 12 Village

I wake up early the next morning and see everyone in the bed. Except Shuu and Tony. 'Probably because we aren't officially mated yet? Is this some rule I'm forgetting?' my bladder makes it's self known, I reluctantly get out of bed to relieve myself.

After I've finished I walk back into the cave to see everyone is awake. Harvey is starting a fire to cook, Rowan is filling the bath, Curtis is making a new clothes, but missing from the cave is Winston, Shuu, and Tony.

Sensing my confusion Rowan says "they went to hunt, they'll be back." I nod feeling better about the missing trio.

While they were gone I decided to check my phone quickly. Looking at the map we made it far enough away to feel relieved. Then I checked the story I find nothing involving me.

There is however a slight change the female lead gets a new mate 'so soon? I wonder why she's changed her mind?'

'Thank God! We all might survive this yet.' I think to myself as I disrobe and climb into the tub.

After I'd bathed and dressed the three of them returned, Harvey started cooking right away and Rowan started brushing my hair. I put Zippy around my neck and he hugs me for warmth.

'Okay, so we are a good enough distance away where we shouldn't have to worry about getting caught in the crossfire of either the city's destruction or the female lead's path of devastation.

One thing is still bothering me, why is the female lead acting different? She has mated with Parker, her alligator and two more males a tiger and a wolf..

could it possibly be my fault? I've avoided her like the plague, but I did take "her males" but there's no way she could know that... right?'

I'm pulled from my thoughts by Harvey calling me for breakfast. We all sit at the table to eat. I look at my plate of scrambled eggs and bacon, but I can't shake the feeling that I'm onto something.

'maybe the female lead also knows this is a story and is aware that I took so many of her males and admirers? That would explain why she looked at me when I yelled out to Winston and why she was practically staring daggers at me at the bonfire.. BUT there's no way right?'

I shake my head, I look at Curtis across the table and hiss to him "the story has changed again, the female lead has taken more male after her serious monogamous stance and I'm remember her staring at me when I yelled to Winston and at the bonfire. It's almost like she knows, 1. that this is a story and 2 that I took you all from her."

Curtis looks at me seriously "So what if she does, we are yours loyal only to you. How strong are her males?"

"her leopard is 3stripes, her alligator is 4 stripes, her wolf is 3 stripes, and a tiger 4 stripes."

Zippy decides to speak up "you have two tetra, a penta , and Two 3 stripes. Your family is stronger than hers. If you're worried get more." he says with a wave of his tail. I nod feeling only slightly better.

'they're right would she really build an army of males against me, just because I took some males? It's not like killing me will make them hers.'
