All Axel felt was anger, no he felt pure, red rage.
He needed to be with Klaus and Elena during the ritual.
Klaus has been waiting for this for thousand years, it was one of the most important event in his life. The moment when he would finally be free.
As for Elena, it was the moment the girl would die and come back to life, the process will leave anyone traumatized.
So Axel, as the one who was the lover of Klaus and big brother figure of Elena, was supposed to be there for them.
Physically and emotionally.
When the ritual was over, Klaus turned into a beautiful gray wolf.
He walked closer to Axel who held dead Elena in his arms.
Rubbing his furr on him. Axel smiled softly, patting the wolf gently.
"Go ahead, run." He whispered softly and Klaus did exactly that.
Running into the woods for the first time in his wolf form.
Axel bought Elena to his apartment, laying her on the bed and looking at Klaus witch.
"You can start." He said, making her nod as the witch started another ritual to bring the girl back.
It took Elena couple of hours but she woke up with a loud gasp.
As she look around, the only one in the room with her was Axel.
"How are you feeling?" Axel asked softly.
Elena looked up at him and give a small smile.
"Nothing special, like i just fall a sleep. Is he..." She didn't need to finish the sentence.
"Yes, the curse is broken, Klaus is still running around." He said, making Elena chuckle slightly.

like i said, all Axel felt was pure rage as he looked at Caroline after two days from the ritual.
When Bonnie noticed him in Mystic grill for the first time after two days, she immediately walked up to him, seeking for help.
As the good and responsible adult, Axel followed Bonnie, walking in Forbes house and looking at the newly turned Caroline who was sitting on the bed with her legs pulled to her chest.
Looking completely lost.
"Caroline?" He slowly walked closer.
At his voice Caroline quickly looked up, looking at Axel with tears in her eyes.
"She killed me, she-she killed me Axel, i don't know what's going on." She started to cry and Axel quickly sat on the bed beside her, pulling her in his arms.
"Shh, I'm here darling, i won't let anything happen to you." Axel said gently, trying to remain calm for the sake of the beautiful blonde.
"Why did she do it, i thought... I thought we were friends... " she continued, letting out another sob as Axel caressed her hair.
"Caroline, i need you to calm down, can you tell me what happened?" Axel asked softly, caressing her cheeks.
"Elena... She was there, talking about... About vampires and how the... Game started. Then she killed me." Caroline let out another sob, clutching Axels shirt like it was her lifeline.
Axel pulled her in a tight hug, caressing her hair. His eyes were filled with rage.
"Axel, what is wrong with me?" Caroline looked up at him with teary eyes, making something drop in Axels stomach.
"Caroline, what I'm about to tell you is unbelievable but promise me you'll listen." He said softly making Caroline nod.
"Who you saw wasn't Elena but Katherine."
"But... But she looked... " Caroline looked up at him confused but Axel interrupted, explaining everything.
After Axel told her everything, Caroline look up at him with a dumbfounded expression.
"So you're telling me that Elenas evil clone killed me and now I'm a vampire and you're one too?" At her words Axel nodded making her sigh in relief.
"At least it was my best friend who killed me, that would've been drama." She said, making Axel chuckle and shake his head.
"Only you would make it your priority Caroline, only you." He said fondly.
"Wait, now i have to feed on humans?" She asked in panic.
"No, don't worry, you don't have to, I'll teach you everything." He said when the door opened slowly and Bonnie walked in.
"Sorry to interrupt, i uh.. I made this, i was waiting until you came so she wouldn't harm anyone." She said softly, handing a daylight ring to Axel who smiled in thanks.
"Here, it will protect you from the sun." Axel put a ring on Carolines finger.
"Look at you, already putting a ring on me." Caroline giggled, making him chuckle and Bonnie shake her head.
