A slam of the office doors echoed throughout the office floor. Loud, cacophony footsteps made the entire building tremble with fear. The people in the office scurried away from the noise, occupying themselves deep in other tasks as to not be spotted.
To the ordinary human, these signs were those of monsters, but it was simply Jackson without his morning coffee, coming into work five minutes late.
He grumbled to himself, something about tax evasion and Madonna, before snatching someone else's coffee cup right from their hands.
The person tried to snatch it back, but Jackson had already downed the entire cup of boiling hot liquid.
Slowly, Jackson became more human like and coherent. He apologized to his angry coworker and said that he'd make a new one for them.
Although it was beneficial for him to be apologizing to his coworkers, it would have even been more beneficial if her actually knew how to work the offices coffee machine.
Staring at it as if it would somehow magically turn itself on, Jackson stood by himself, refusing to ask anyone for help.
Luckily, another coworker, Jackson vaguely remembers his name as Alex, saw the trouble Jackson was in and came up to him.
"Need help?" Alex asked Jackson.
As much as he wanted to scream "hell no" at the top of his lungs, he actually needed the man's aid, so he muttered some cuss words in different languages and moved aside.
As Alex began working tirelessly on the machine, Jackson began to recollect himself.
He'd always been a grumpy man, especially in the morning, but today he was worse. It was unacceptable behavior, particularly when it was his first day working there.
It was mainly due to the fiasco this morning. Running a hand through his hair, Jackson let out a sigh. Although thinking about that situation was the very last thing Jackson wanted to spend his morning doing, it needed to be addressed.
Despite the fact that Jackson lacked much of what was necessary to asses to situation justly, he did know a few crucial things:
1.) He woke up in an unknown apartment with an unknown man who was most likely from 2.) the club, which, due to the pounding in Jackson's head, could be attested to.
The cherry on top was that 3.) that was the best fucking sleep Jackson has ever had. He woke up feeling extremely alarmed in the situation he had found himself in, but also somehow relaxed. He didn't feel as tightly strung as he usually was when he was this worked up.
It was probably just the alcohol from last night messing with his brain, definitely not the fact that a man was in the bed with him.
"And done!" Alex slammed his hand onto the top of the coffee machine and it sputtered out a few drops of coffee into the awaiting cup reluctantly.
Jackson shook a bit from the loud noise, waking him up from his thoughts.
"Yeah....thanks." Jackson grabbed the coffee cup and patted Alex on his back absentmindedly.
Alex let out a nervous chuckle, looking taken aback by the gesture."Hey what was that for?"
"Mhmm." Jackson walked away in search of the man whom to give the coffee cup to.
"Is that my coffee, Jackson?" A voice in the loud bustling office was louder than the rest, and more agitated.
Jackson walked past a group of people to get to the person and handed them a coffee cup.
Listening to the conversation occurring beside their desk, Jackson heard a voice that sounded eerily familiar.
"No, I don't want to go on a date with you. I'm sure you're nice but-"
A female coworker interjected, "Oh, are you dating someone else? I'm so sorry!"
The man seemed to pause for a second before he said, "No."
The man's tone was reluctant to provide more information, and Jackson knew that those girls would pester him until he spilled his secret.
"Why, then? Am I not pretty enough, because I'm a ten and way too good for you anyway." Jackson could almost hear her smirk.
Taking a deep breath, the man answered, "I'm gay."
Jackson couldn't help himself; the words fell out of his mouth, "Faggot."
What he didn't account for was how quiet the room was going to get.
Everyone turned their head towards him, staring at him with a mix of astonishment and disgust.
Jackson was just as speechless as they were, because as he looked up, he found the voice of the man who declared himself gay.
There, standing with his other new colleagues, was the man Jackson had spent last night with, Matthew.
Both of them stared at each other dumbstruck, before one of the women said, "Oh. I guess that's okay."
It only added to the thick layer of awkwardness in the air.
Unable to take it, Jackson quickly rushed out of the room, Matthew quick to follow him
The person with the coffee cup laughed from behind the group, "Ha. The fucker didn't even fill up my cup all the way."
