KIM FAMILY MANSION; Mi-rae's room. The morning sunrays came piercing through the glass walls as they blessed the blue and grey themed room that belonged to the sweet and peaceful lady who snored softly in her queen-sized bed. Her soft snores were however disrupted by a knock on her room's door. The person knocked twice after not getting any response. Mi-rae who covered her head with her soft blanket, removed it instantly as she jolted up looking everywhere. The door was knocked thrice as she now was conscious.
"Young Miss?" It was Nathan. Chang-han's assistant. Mi-rae frowned her eyebrows as she got off of her bed. She fixed her hair and her robe as she walked to her door. She opened the door as she made eye contact with Nathan. Nathan kept a still face as he bowed a little. "A very good day, young Miss. Master needs your presence in the living room." Nathan spoke as he looked at her.
Mi-rae smiled and nodded. "I shall be there at once. Give him my word." Mi-rae spoke. Nathan nodded as he walked away. Mi-rae got back in as she decided to get ready. She fixed her bed and the maids appeared to clean her room. Mi-rae went for a shower while the maids cleaned her already neat boudoir.
After a short shower, Mi-rae got out drying her hair with her towel. She wore her clothes and did her hair as she checked herself out in the mirror. She smiled and sprayed her favourite perfume on herself. She got out of her room in order to meet her father.
I wonder whatever it might be. She thought as she walked through the passage. Soon, she was escorted by Nathan to meet with her father who was sitting on his King sized chair, sipping his Rose tea. Mi-rae stood still in front of him as she waited for him to finish his tea. After all, he hates disturbance while he's doing these three things - His Rose tea, His meetings, and his sweet time with his late wife.
Mi-rae chuckled internally after recalling those things. Soon, Chang-han was done with his tea as he clunked his cup on the coffee table. A hint for the servants to clean the coffee table.
"Mi-rae." Chang-han called out as he looked at her. He signalled her to have a seat on the couch beside him. Mi-rae nodded before she sat on the couch. "I'd like to ask for a favour. From you, of course." Chang-han spoke as he crossed his legs. Mi-rae maintained her body language as she looked at him in the eye. "You may go on, Dad." She spoke.
"It's been three years already. I have been asking you to take over your mother's fortune. Continue her career and maintain her image in the fashion industry. I don't understand what's making you decline it." Chang-han paused as he saw Mi-rae's face turning cold. "And my answer would always be a 'no', Dad. I already have told you. What's earned by mother, stays to her. I do not wish to take over it. I'm good being the way I am. I don't want to step into that hell. The hell that swallowed my mother whole. My mother wouldn't want me to end up the same way as she did." Mi-rae spoke firmly.
Chang-han had no other option but to give in. "So, you ain't getting in?" He asked again. Mi-rae shook her head. Chang-han sighed. He understood that he had no further choices but to let her be to her decision. It's not right to force things onto her after all.
"Ah, anyways. I'm sorry I may have ruined your mood the first thing in the morning. But, I got a call from Mr. Jeon. He asked you to accompany his daughter. Jeong-Ha wants you to accompany her to shopping. She wants you to help her with her wedding dress." Chang-han spoke. Mi-rae's eyes brightened. "Really? Oh I always have wanted to look at all those goodies! I'll go wear something different!" She hopped like a rabbit as she made her way to her room.
"Lively, that one." Chang-han chuckled. He looked at his wrist as he found out it was already 9. "Oh crap. I gotta attend a meeting." He scurried away to his room as his assistant followed him.
