Jack stopped the gas to his car, stepping out. Michael had already run to the unlocked door. There was another car there. He sighed and walked inside. The house looked a lot better than his. It wasn't dusty everywhere. There were pretty wall decorations. There were some bottles around, but that was probably from the aunts care. He walked up the stairs to a neat living room. 2 sofas, one with 3 pillows, one with 2, and a single armchair. Jack found it oddly satisfying seeing how they were kinda counting down. He stopped in the middle of the living room. There were small plastic pumpkins on the coffee table and a big pot in the corner of the room.

While examining the area, he heard a yell from down the hallway, causing him to immediently tuen n its direction. It was the familiar voice of a woman. Ashlyn. He rushed over to see that she had hit Michael.

"You disgrace! Because of you, I lost my house!" She yelled to Michael, who was sitting on the floor rubbing his cheek.

"Hey! What the fuck?!" Jack stomped his foot, causing her to look over.

"What are you doing in my house?!" She yelped.

"Do you mean Amy's house?" He replied, getting closer.

Ashlyn stepped back, still super defensive. "It's my sister's house, and when she dies, it will be mine!"

"Just leave it! You don't belong here anymore! She asked for you to leave, so just follow her wishes!" He pointed to the door.

She took a moment to muster something to say, but when she was unable to, she just yelled in fury and stomped out.

When Jack heard the slam of the front door, he rushed to Michael's side, "Are you alright, kid?"

"Fine! Fine, just fine." Michael reassured. At this point, he had already stood up.

Jack sighed and looked around. It looked like a children's room. Probably his room. Michael went back to stuffing some toys back into his backpack. 'Aw fuck. I have to deal with toys.' Jack thought to himself, worried. He didn't want to deal with a child.

Feeling uncomfortable in a house that isn't his, he left the room, "I'll wait in the car!" He called out.

"Alright!" Michael yelled back in response

When Jack had reached the front door, he opened it to see Ashlyn struggling to open her car. He ignored her and walked to his car, opening it.

"Hey! Hitch me a ride to an address!" She called out, "My car broke!"

Jack scoffed, "Sure, like I'm gonna leave a child alone."

"That child is nothing, I deal with him every day." She retorted.

"By your behavior a minute ago, I think he has to deal with you every day." He replied, sitting down in his car.

She wore an offended face as she walked over to his car while he shut the door. He locked it quickly when she reached for the doorhandle and slightly lowered the window.

"Open this door!" She exclaimed.

"No, go in your own car and leave." He replied.

"I demand you! I have to see where your house is if you are going to leave with my sister's kid!" She knocked in the window.

He scoffed and honked, trying to grab the attention of Michael for him to move faster. Ashlyn had jumped back and then looked more furious.

"You did that on purpose!" She yelled.
