Emmett couldn't believe that Victoria was back, but the question is, what happened to James. "Where are you taking her?"

"To a place she's always dreamt of going." He tells his best friend. "I don't know why Alice saw Victoria planning something, but none of us had anything to do with the mans death."

"I don't think he did." Esme says. "He found his true mate because Tanya is with him. That's his true mate. He said he left the moment Victoria walked away from him. He was free and he left on his own."

"Laurent?"

"Irina."

Alice walked over to Caroline as she was putting her books up. "So, I know something you don't know."

"I'm not stupid. Victoria is back and no one knows why because James is in Alaska."

"How?"

"Edward." She stated. "He said he wasn't going to keep this from me as I have rights to know. I know Emmett is planning something, but I'm not pestering him." She smiled as she opened the locker. "Whatever he has planned may give you all time to figure out what has Victoria thinking differently."

"Do you think we can?"

"Someone has to know what has her thinking differently unless, it's revenge because they never came after me."

Alice didn't say anything as Caroline walked away. She shut the blondes locker thinking about what really has Victoria coming after them and why Caroline. James is alive, but Victoria is planning something that will get her killed.

Emmett smiled as he arrived at the Mikaelsons house. "Emmett, what brings you by?" Celeste asked.

"Just came to see if it was okay with you to take Caroline out of town. That way you all can find out why Victoria is targeting Caroline." He says. "Plus I wanted some time alone with her too."

"Sure, Emmett. You know Kevin and I have no issue with you. We love you, Emmett and we can't wait till you are officially in our family." She tells him as she hugged him. "Take her to wherever you want to and show her that no matter what, she is safe, she is loved, and you will always put her first."

Emmett smiled as he knew what she meant. He has shown her everything and he has to continue to do what he is doing. Hearing a car, he turned to see Caroline pulling in at the same time as Kevin causing him to walk to her. Kevin watched his daughter run and jump in Emmett's arms causing him to smile as did Celeste. She walked over to her husband who kissed her head. "She put me to mind of us when we were her age."

"You talking to mom and dad."

"They made me promise to continue to love you, protect you and to make sure you were always first, but they didn't expect Caroline."

They looked at their daughter. "She's the best gift we ever had."

"That she is."
