Inside of the box was a beautiful blue dress. Handing the box to my father, I carefully take the dress out. The material was a light blue, almost like the sky. It shimmered with every move under the light, and it was so thin and smooth, it felt like I could rip it at any moment. With a sweat heart neckline, it went all the way to the floor. "Oh father, I love it!" I looked over at my father with a smile spread across my face.

"I'm glade dear. I was hopping you would. Made from the best and finest, perfect for my daughter."

"What is it for though," I ask, hugging it close to my chest.

"Do you remember Kolvy?

"Yeah. How could I not?" Kolvy had been the little boy I had played with when we were younger. He had moved to another kingdom, for his dad had a better job. He wasn't royalty like I was.

Sitting the box down on a near by table, he takes my dress and sits it there as well. Grabbing my smaller hands in his, he begins to speak. "Well he had sent it for you. As a proposal. A proposal for marriage."

For marriage? I'm only 16, how could he want me to get married so early? My father took my silence as happiness. "Oh I know you will make a fine bride darling. And I know what your thinking. I know he isn't a prince. But I like the young boy so much, I couldn't care less. As long as you are happy my dear. And I know your mother would love him. She did when you two were little." He releases on my hands and I see him wipe away a small tear.

"Oh dear. I didn't mean to get o emotional. I'm just happy that I know my baby girl will be with a good guy." He sends me a happy smile with tears in his eyes. "Go on now. I'll have someone take your dress to your room so you can enjoy your party.

He turns away with my dress in hand and talks to a servant. I turn around to go find Nora to tell her the news. I found her over talking to some other servants that work for us. I sat down next to her and look around. It seems that everyone here is having fun. "Hey whats wrong," I hear from behind me. It was Nora.

"Mind if we go to my room?" She shakes her head and we get up. The walk to my room was a silent one.  I enjoyed having Nora with me. It wasn't a awkward silence and she didn't press. She was a great friend to me.

After we got to my room I shut the door behind us. We both sit on my bed. I look across the room where the beautiful dress i hanging up and shimmering in the light. Nora goes to say something but before she can get anything out, my head is on her shoulder crying. I cry and cry. I'm crying for my mom, and because I'm just a 16 year old girl who is getting married to a guy who I don't even love.
