I'm Not Who You Think I Am

Chapter 1

"Why can't you go to the dance on Friday? It's going to be so much fun Jaden."

Taking a great interest in a bright red apple, I set it down on my tray and look at my best friend Jenny. "Because my dad dosn't want me out of the house this Friday. He's just really protective over me." Ya that's a under statement of the century. He sends two guards with me to school everyday and they happen to be Jack and Robert.

"Well he needs to let you live a little more. And will I ever get to meet him? Iv known you for a while now, and have never meet you'r family. Or even been to your house for that matter." We pay the lunch lady, and we go and find a table to sit at. I wish I could go to the dance, but I have a ceremony where I become the full duty princess for my people, the Kikoy.

"I wish he would let me live more, but I bet he has his reasons," I said taking a drink of my milk.

"Like what? Your a secret princess and you have to rule a kingdom? If that was the deal, then I could understand, but you'r not.'

I just look at her, almost with horror. Jenny reads a lot of fantasy junk, and they always have the princess in them. She thought that she was joking, but if only she knew how close she was.

"That would be pretty cool, but im not. as as for meeting my dad, you might get to soon." That is if I could get him to take his human form.

Taking a bit of her cheese pizza,she said"ok. But can you at lease come to my party on Saturday? Its going to be a load of fun,and I'm turning 18, you have to come."

"OK I'll ask,"I said as the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. "Come on let's go to class" Grabbing my purple bag, I went to my locker, grabbed my Science textbook, and went to class.

After school let out, I put everything back into my locker, and walked outside into the crisp winter weather. Pulling my jacket tighter around me, I start my trek to the woods, making sure that no one saw me enter. Looking around to check one more time, I get on one knee and put my hands together,as if I was praying. Saying the secret chant of my people, I get transported to my kingdom, now in my true form.

Walking down the long solid gold hallway, I see Robert walking my way. "Why hello Princess Jeldorine. What a pleasure to see you."

"You too Robert. Or should I say Zaxin," I say smiling. Zaxin hated his human name, but not by me weirdly.

"Oh how I love the way you say my names. You make them sound like music."

"Are you hitting on you'r Princess Zaxin," I say with a cockiness of anger.

Catching that I was acting he said,"oh no princess. Never would I. N-Not that you are not pretty or anything, I-it's just t-that," I cut him off with the raise of my hand. Everyone in the castle knew that Zaxin had a little crush on me. And he always got nevervus around me also.

Zaxin just lowers his head,trying to hide his now red face. "Its ok. I know you mean well,"I tell him putting my small hand on his shoulder.He looks back up at me, a small smile displade on his face.

"Anyway," he said straiting up. "I came up here looking for you. Your father has requested your presence in the ballroom."

"Do you what for?"

"Yes ma'am. It is about your carnation."

"Ok. thank you Zaxin. I sha'll see you later then."

Zaxin did a little bow, and walked off, whistling a little tone. I walked down the long hallway that lead to the ballroom, looking out the windows that over looked the town. The town was really pretty, with the gold colored roofs, and the deep red houses. They all had the same color, but no house was the same. There was the city square that had a fountain in the middle, with crystal clear water. I watched as the little kikoy children ran around playing tag and living there life's.
