Dante pov:

I was watching her on the CCTV above the cage when it came time for her fight. When my door opens, Lee walks in. "You are watching your little fighter," he says, and I roll my eyes at him while he grins. Of course, I am observing. I want to witness her victory. As the struggle begins, I don't take my eyes off her.

As of right now, Sandy appears to be winning the battle with Rachel. Since Sandy is one of my strongest human fighters, I asked Rex to set up a bout between Sandy and Rachel so I could test her strength. Rachel reverses the roles the following instant. Lee, who is sitting next to me, remarks, "She's holding her own quite well down there." Rex goes to help Rachel up after Rachel ends the fight with a final blow. I contact Rex when he drops her off at the locker room.

"Take her to my office." Tell her I'll explain when she gets here if she questions why. I smirk at Lee, acknowledging the unexpected depth of power exuding from her every move. She'll be a great carrier for me. A powerful heir will be born to her. Lee's amused silver eyes glitter. "Have you been drawn to anyone after all these years?" I give him a rolling look.

"I've had the occasional fling here and there, but not for that long." Lee gives me a backslap and a smile. "Yes, you've had relationships, but since your ex-wife, I haven't witnessed you showing this much attention to a single woman." There is a captivating aura about her that intrigues me. Maybe because she is a carrier. I make a gesture in the direction of the door.

"Maybe you should get lost? They are going to arrive at any moment. Lee walks over to the entrance, raising his hands in the air. I'll go now, so you can play with your little fighter. He retreats from my office, chuckling.

Rachel pov:

I trail behind Rex. We make our way upstairs from the club's basement. Beyond the dancing floor, we proceed to the VIP area. While I feel like I was struck by a truck, at least we are moving slowly. For a brief period of time, I was certain that I would lose tonight's fight, which was one of the hardest. I'm anxious to see Dante Voss because I wonder what he wants from me.

"Don't worry, I'll be there for you. How are you doing?" I flash him a quick smile. "Like a truck hit me, but it won't hurt me." Rex will be with me during this encounter, which gives me comfort. Rex knocks on the door when we get to it; it has the nameplate Voss on it. It's me, Mr. Voss. Rachel is with me.

From the other side of the door comes a deep, silky voice. "Enter now." The sexiest guy I've ever seen leaning on his desk walks into the workplace. He has a tall, muscular build, white hair that is wavy, golden eyes—I've never seen eyes like that before—and is dressed in black shoes, a black dress shirt, a white vest, a black tie, and black slacks.

When he sees me, he smirks and checks me out. I reddened slightly when I was caught red-handed. "Sir, this is Rachel. Rachel, this is my boss, Dante Voss." I greeted him. "Good evening, Mr. Voss; it's a pleasure to meet you." His gaze travels from my feet to my eyes before he responds with a smirk, exuding an air of unwavering confidence and authority. "Oh, the pleasure is mine." Dante then stares at Rex. "You can get out." Rex stares at Dante with disbelief on his face, stammering his words.

"Oh, umm, I thought I could stay with Rachel, sir." Dante gives Rex a frigid glare, and his voice is icy as he says. "You can wait for her downstairs." Now, when I order you to leave, you leave!" Rex glances at me apologetically. "Sorry, Rach, I'll wait for you downstairs." Rex turns and exits the room, leaving me with Mr. Intimidating over here. I sneer at him. At least I attempt to, given that half of my face is bruised. Dante's face lights up with laughter.

"Don't pull your face like that; it makes your expression look ridiculous." He motions for me to sit on the couch in his office. His office is decorated in shades of crimson and dark mahogany; the carpet is dark red, the couch is red with dark wood, his desk is dark, and the chair behind his desk is a deep red. I sit on the couch as he moves to sit behind his desk. His look is intense, sending shivers down my spine. Before I can say anything, he starts talking.

"I invited you here to make you a proposition. Where both of us can profit. His penetrating golden eyes are fixated on me, with a stern and immovable look. Curiosity gnawed at me, urging me to listen more. "Okay. "I'm listening." He leans back in his chair before continuing to speak. "You are a wonderful person. We refer to you as a carrier. A carrier is a human who can become pregnant by a royal vampire. Now, my proposal is this: I want you to be my carrier and bear me a child. After the child is born, he or she will live with me. In exchange, I will heal your brother, pay all of your expenses, and give you a lump sum of money. You will also receive full protection against the werewolves."

I burst out laughing and clutched my gut. I laugh so hard that tears spill down my cheeks. This guy must be joking, right? I managed to contain my laughter long enough to question him. "You are joking, right? Vampires? Werewolves? Carriers? "They do not exist!" He does not laugh; instead, he raises an eyebrow and sighs before speaking again.

"I'm not joking. Vampires and werewolves exist, and you come from a carrier bloodline. I'm Dante Voss, the vampire prince, and Nash is the alpha werewolf. There used to be more carriers, but werewolves have been eradicating them, leaving your kind a rare breed." I scoff at him and lean forward. "Are you telling me I have to think you are a vampire, that you desire me because I can bear you a kid, and that there are werewolves out there who will kill me simply because I am a carrier? "What a load of fucking bullshit!"

Irritation washed over his face. "Watch your tone when speaking with me; I'm only asking politely the first time. You can be mine voluntarily or unwillingly. I will utilize any means at my disposal. Either way, you are mine now." I rise from the couch, my laughter turning bitter. "How about this: Go to hell with your delusions! President Voss, a lunatic in disguise!"

As I move towards the entrance, unease creeps up my spine. Just as I open the door, he speaks again. "You will come begging for my protection once the truth reveals itself! I respond, glaring at him, before exiting the office. "Yeah Right!" Going downstairs, I find Rex waiting for me, and he hands me my luggage and money. He stares at me inquisitively before asking. "So, what did my boss want with you?" I murmur, shaking my head, and respond. "Your boss is insane. I'm out of here." I leave Rex behind and head home.
