Timeless

Chapter one

   Lilly woke up in a dark, unknown room, as she frantically looked around, her eyes strained to see anything in the pitch-black darkness. Lilly realized she wasn't alone, Lilly reached out her hand, cautiously feeling the air in front of her. Her little fingers brushed against a cool, smooth surface, and she realized it was someone's face.
   Curiosity overcoming fear, she continued to explore the face, causing the person to flinch away. Paul opened his eyes as he felt someone touching his face. He saw Lilly was awake, "Hey, what are you doing awake, love?" Paul asked Lilly. "I'm hungry, Paul," Lilly told him. Paul got up and picked Lilly, carrying her down the hallway. Lilly giggled as Paul tickled her in his arms.
   Marko woke up to the sound of laughter, he rubbed his eyes and looked over to see Paul and Lilly gone. Getting up out of bed and headed out the door, Marko walked down the hallway and stepped into the "living room."
   There, he found Paul sitting on the old couch, with Lilly in his lap, Lilly's laughter filling the room. The sight brought a smile to Marko's face as he watched the playful scene unfold.
   Paul noticed him standing at the entrance of the hallway. There eyes met, and a warm greeting passed between them. Lilly also noticed Marko standing there, "Marko!" With a burst of excitement, she dashed over to him, her tiny feet carrying her swiftly into his awaiting arms.
   Marko's undead heart swelled with affection as he held Lilly close, wanting to cherish this moment forever.
   As Marko held Lilly in his arms, he couldn't help noticed the contrast between her warm skin and his own cold skin. As her stomach growled in hunger, Lilly felt a bit embarrassed and hid her face in Marko's chest. Marko and Paul chuckled at her adorable reaction. "I'm going to get pizza, how does that sound, Lilly?" Paul asked, to which Lilly smiled and nodded eagerly.
   Heading towards the entrance of the cave, Paul left to get pizza. Marko looked down at Lilly and asked, "Do you want to wake up David and Dwayne?" Lilly's face lit up with excitement as she replied, "Yes!" Marko and Lilly walked down the hallway together, making their way towards the bedroom where David and Dwayne were still fast asleep.
   Marko and Lilly entered the dark room, and Marko gently placed Lilly on the bed. He walked over to the dresser, lighting candles. With the soft glow illuminating the room, Lilly could see David and Dwayne still fast asleep.
   Lilly crawled onto David's chest, Lilly couldn't resist the urge to playfully poke David's cheeks, her smile growing wider as she quietly giggled. But suddenly, Lilly found herself on her back, being tickled by a now awake David. Dwayne woke up to a joyful scene, stretching his limbs and smiling at them.
   Lilly's laughter filled the room as she pleaded for a break from the tickling. David smirked and finally let her catch her breath. Dwayne joined in, picking Lilly up from the bed and ceasing her in his arms. Lilly rested her head on Dwayne's shoulder as he carried her through the hallway.
   In the living room, Paul walked in the three boxes of pizza and a bag of drinks. Lilly's excitement couldn't be contained as she shouted, "Yay!" Dwayne settled on the couch, with Lilly beside him. David walked in and sat in his wheelchair. Marko assisted Paul with the food, and Paul handed Lilly a box of apple juice, saying, "Here you go, baby." Lilly beamed at Paul and gratefully accepted it.
   Marko served up plates of pepperoni and meat lovers pizza for Lilly and Dwayne, which they happily took. David enjoyed his jalapeño and cheese pizza, while Paul opted for pepperoni and meat. Marko settled for a classic pepperoni pizza. It was a feast for everyone to enjoy together.
