Final Shot

One| James

"Trust all of us to take up an entire building" Hunter said as we sat in the living room of my dorm room. It's mental to think that we were all here if I'm honest
I know a lot of the boys will agree that I didn't expect half of us to be here
But yet here we are
"Well not quite, there is someone across the hall" Eldon reminded him
"Technically two people right? I mean it's a two person flat?" Michelle suggested making all us shrug

We had all grown up together so the fact that we managed to somehow room in the same building was already crazy 
Having to room with one more person shouldn't be difficult

"I hope for your sake Mich, there girls" West laughed
"That's the smartest thing you have said in a while West" Michelle said making all us chuckle 
It can't have been easy for Michelle growing up with all of us. She never seemed to be drawn towards any of the girls we grew up along side. I think Michelle was too Michelle to be with them 
"Shall we go knock? Meet our little roomie?" Hunter said but I rolled my eyes
"Leave them alone Hunter. We have all year, I'm sure they'll make an appearance at some point" I explained making him pout before laughing it off

 "When does everyone's classes start?" Michelle asked making most of us shrug, I have not even taken a look into that yet. We still have the weekend before any of that matters
Our last small snippet of freedom

"Mama when are we seeing Grumps again?" A small voice asked making all of us widen our eyes at the sound 
"Is that a kid?" Hunter asked making all of us look at each other confused
"We'll see him soon baby, we need to get settled first then we will okay?" Another voice asked, this one sounds older.
I looked over at Hunter knowing that he was one breath away from going to the door to look through the peep hole or open the door and interrupt them 
"Don't" I warned him but I could see the itch in him already

"Promise?" The little voice asked
"I pinky promise" The older girl answered 

Right as those words finished Hunter walked over to the door practically throwing it open earning a glare from all of us 
Stood right in front of the other day was a small brunette child with her mother. The mum was clearly our age, but the resemblance between the two of them was uncanny 

"Uh Mama, who are they?" The little girl said almost with a little disgust 
"They are our neighbours sweetheart. Like Miss Gloria just mummy's age instead" She said
"Can you bake like Miss Gloria?" The little girl asked making me widen my eyes
"I don't know about Miss Gloria but I make some killer brownies" Michelle's voice called earning a smile from the little girl 
"I like them" the little girl smiled
"Why don't you go inside and get your pyjama's on Zoey" The mum said earning a pout from Zoey, one stern look from her mother was enough to make her run inside to do as she was told 

"It's uh, nice to meet you all. I'm Riley and that was my daughter Zoey" Riley started
"And from the looks on all of your faces, it's clear that you were not aware that a child would be living here?" She asked making most of us nod
"Will it be a problem?" Riley asked looking at us all one by one 
"I mean-" Hunter started before I elbowed him

"no of course it won't" Michelle said 
"She seems like a sweetheart" West added making Riley nod with a smile
"I promise she is a good child. She rarely cries, unless she is sick or overtired. She'll be quiet I swear" Riley panicked but I furrowed my brows at her
"She's a child. Hunter is probable louder then her" I laughed earning the same laugh from everyone else

"Mama! I put my leg through arm help!" Zoey yelled making Riley chuckle before smiling at all of us 
"I should you know" She started before turning around to head into her flat, while the rest of us retreated over back to mine

"Is this going to be the designated hang out spot?" I asked looking at everyone sat in my living room before I had time to process waking up
"You and Riley got the bigger flats. We aren't on the type of terms with Riley where we can just waltz into her place" Hunter shrugged 

"I still am in shock over Zoey and Riley. Props to her for coming to College with a kid" Eldon said and I had to agree
If I was in Riley's shoes I don't think I would have been able to do it. I'm sure she has the support she needs to make it work but even with that it's going to wear both of them down swiftly

Before anyone else could say something there was a knock on the door making me raise a brow knowing that there was only two options on who that could be unless one of the two options had let someone random into the building which I highly doubt
I walked over to door opening it to see Zoey stood there with a little jar in her hand and a pleading look on her face
"Hey Zoey" I said crouching to her level earning a smile
"Would you like a cookie?" She asked almost throwing the jar at me
"Where's your mum?" I asked earning a cheeky grin
"Getting dressed so we have to be fast or she'll catch us" She said with a serious look on her face
"I don't want to get on the wrong -" I started before Riley was stood in the doorway of her flat with her arms crossed against her chest

"Zoey Mae Miller" Riley said using a stern voice that even make me a little scared
"Busted" she whispered to me before giggling running back into her flat while Riley stood there shaking her head

"I'm so-" She started but I shook my head at her this time
"There is nothing to be sorry for" I answered with a soft smile before Zoey returned cuddling up to her mothers leg with a large smile on her face 

"Can James have a cookie Mama?" Zoey acting like she hadn't already tried that route
"I'm sure James has his own cookies Zo" Riley said 
"But they aren't our cookies! James needs them" She pleaded
"Mama its impostent" She said making both Riley and I chuckle
"You mean important baby?" Riley asked earning a quick nod from Zoey while Riley looked up at me
"Well if James has one then his friends need some too. That'll mean there wont be many left for you" Riley warned
"Oh yeah Zoey, if you give Hunter a cookie then you might not get any back" I said earning an shocked expression from Zoey 

"Mama are you going to tell Hunter to share?" She pleaded making me laugh
"I'm sure he'll share with you. Go get the cookies sweetheart and I'm sure James will bring back the left overs" She said as we watched Zoey run into the apartment before returning with a packet

"Here you go! These are my favourite so please don't let Hunter eat them all" She said pouting
"Well if your mum is okay with it you can go in and give it to him yourself then you know he'll only have one" I offered before Zoey turned back to her mum who nodded with a small

"oh hey Zoey!" Michelle said noticing her first
"I brought cookies but Hunter you can only have one. Mama said so" Zoey said making Riley and I burst out laughing while Riley also rolled her eyes at her daughter
