Wishful Thinking

Betty's POV
After talking with Alice, I realized what I needed to do. I walked home to go talk to Jughead. 

He was still asleep. 

"What it's 11 o'clock." I said.

"So, it's Sunday." Jughead mumbled. 

I lay next to him kissing his cheek. 

"Babe, we need to talk." 

"Is everything okay?" He asks pushing the blanket under his chin away from his face. 

"I have been thinking that I want to start taking classes at the community college. I don't want to work at the diner the rest of my life even though I love working there but we only live once and I want to make it count. Plus I can make more money after a while." 

Jughead smiles. 

"I support you 100% but chase after your dream not the money, what are you looking to go to school for?" 

"Look Jug, ever since I was shot I haven't been the same. The cops in this town haven't done anything and it kills me that this guy is still out there and it might be the same that robbed Alice's." 

"Betty.." He says jumping up. 

"I want to get my criminal Justice degree." 

"Do you know how dangerous that is." He says jumping out of bed. 

"You'd said you support me and yes, but it's what I feel I've been called to do." 

"Oh come on, your just looking to get yourself killed." 

"Jug?" 

"No, Betty I don't know why your so reckless when you have ever thing to live for...you have me." 

In that moment Serpent jumped on the bed. 

"Betty..." 

I grabbed my dog and walked out the door slamming it. 

"Betts wait!" He yells following me. 

I turn around so mad I just wanted his support. 

"No Jughead, I was almost murdered and the guy that did it is out there. Hell I might've walked passed him on the streets a couple of times but I wanna feel safe and I want to make others feel safe and I'm not to weak to handle it. I'm strong I lived most of my life on my own no help to my brother. I don't need your permission I needed you to believe in me, support me." 

"Betty..." 

I'll be staying at Alice's for a while. 

Later that night

Knock, knock
I'm standing outside of Alice's door in my Sunday sweats holding my pup. 

As the door opens and Alice see's it's me she gets a big smile. 

"Hi!" She says so bright and excitedly. 

"Hey Alice... can I stay here a couple of days?" I ask her so weary. 

She gives me the sympathy look and invites me in.
