Last week was crazy to say the least. The pretty extra has been acting as if everything is alright. She continued to do the same things she's been doing. While she acts oblivious, I've been thinking about what she said. She told me that I was a better fighter than her. I mean I don't disagree but the switch up was so sudden. All that confidence she had, was it fake?
It was the end of the day and we were sitting in class waiting for Aizawa to come in. I sat silently in my seat staring out into the space. My mind was wrapped up in whatever was going on in the witch's head. She hadn't spoken to me at all today, which was unusual for her. The teasing, mocking, and snide remarks would be present by now. But nothing she's just sitting there.
Aizawa came in with paper in his hand. He posted the paper on the board and turned to us.
"This is your final Sport's Festival. You're third years so you won't get another opportunity to do it. Make it count. Make an impression that'll stick. Train like your lives depend on it," What he said stuck with me. I've already proven myself time and time again but this moment would cement the beginning of my career. I couldn't mess this up. I needed the world to know my name. The hero Dynamight would ring across the world.
"You all have two weeks to prepare. Take this seriously. Don't goof off...," He looked at Pikachu.
"Anyway, do what you want, that's all I had planned for today." He rolled himself up inside his sleeping bag.
The class was hype about the event. I could hear the idiots I live with screaming about how much stronger they're going to get. The extra was still quiet and it was pissing me off. The bell rung for class and school to end.
I moved slowly so I could stay behind and talk to Denai. She looked dejected and lonely. i didn't like seeing my rival and somewhat friend looking down. I need her to be at her best if I'm gonna beat her.
"Hey dumbass." I called out to her causing her to look up at me.
"Yes?" She tried her best not to make eye contact but I didn't care.
"Come on. What's taking you so long?" I waiting actively waiting for someone, which was against my character.
"I was contemplating some things." She grabbed her bag and walked up to me. I stepped aside and we walked down the hall. We made out of the school and trekked to the apartment in silence. I could tell something on her mind. She staring out into space. But honestly I could tell from her eyes. The usual shine they hold isn't there.
"Look I don't need you being all in your head. I still have to beat you remember. So you have to be at your best." I tried to comfort her with the tools I had. I wasn't the best person to do this but I guest I'm good enough.
"You say that but do you believe it." She didn't face me but I could tell that her insecurities were getting to her.
"I don't need to believe it because its true. Right now you've beaten me twice. I can't properly kick your ass if your moping and sad." She breathed out a slight giggle. She looked at me for the first time today in my eyes.
"You're not going to beat me that easily. Sad or not, I'll still win." Her teasing tone creeping back in.
"Yeah, keep talking like that and karma's gonna bite your ass." I smirked
"I'd hope not."

The extra and I came to the conclusion that we could benefit from training together. The biggest event of our young careers is coming up and we both needed the boost. Our training sessions usually consists of quirk training, hand-to-hand combat, stamina, and agility. Our main focus being stamina. The games were long and If we wanted any chances at winning we would need endurance.
Right now we were finishing a jog around a park area close to the school. We went to the area where we train our quirks. We teach each other different techniques and we spar using them.
We drank our water, catching our breaths. She was teaching me about having more control over my quirk. I worked on pushing my limits. I wanted to decrease the strain on my forearms from using large explosions.
"Your power is not only an extension of your body but an extension of your mind as well. If your mind and body aren't in sync then you won't be able to accomplish what you want." She touched my forearm and I felt my body heat up from the contact. I probably blushed like a dumbass. She hit my arm, gaining my attention.
"Focus! Your mind needs to be clear for this!" She stood in front of me.
"Now hold out your arms and think about releasing one your large explosions. Don't think about the pain.." She backed away and I shut my eyes. I imagined my gauntlets and my stored sweat. I charged up my quirk, sparks springing from my hands. Heat rose from my fingers, as that happened, my arms began to ache.
"Don't think about it. Keep going, you got this." She encouraged me to keep going through the pain. I knew if I didn't get past it then I wouldn't be able to release bigger explosions.
I released my explosion. My arms were fucking killing me. I felt awful but I did it anyway. My muscle constricted and I groaned in pain. She rushed to me and placed her hands on my biceps. I felt heat radiate from her body and flow into mine. A white light glowed from beneath her hands. My arms were no longer in pain. My muscles felt less tense. As she was doing this we made eye contact for a few seconds. It felt like hours almost. She looked away after being finished treating me.
"You did better than I expected. You pushed through." She looked back at the damage I did to the area.
"Yeah but there's more that I can do.."
"You need to be patient. If you want the best results, you'll require time." She turned to the area I destroy and re-assembled it. It was fucking amazing to watch. They she has control of her quirk without major drawbacks is insane. I can just hope to have control like that.
"We should go home and get rest so we can we even harder tomorrow." She said as turned to me.
"Yeah, extra"
