A/n- unedited

We were walking down the street in the town square, investigating disappearances. This case was ongoing at Mirko's agency, and since we just became a part of it, we were assigned to the case too.

*Flashback*

"This is a delicate matter. For the past few months, young girls have been going missing. There hasn't been a trace of them, not even a fingerprint left behind."

"No fingerprints?" Some of the other sidekicks whispered amongst themselves.

"All these young girls were between the ages of sixteen and twenty-four. They had no relation to one another, but they shared quite a few things in common. For starters, they all have element-based quirks. You know the basics: Water, Earth, Wind, and Fire. The second thing they had in common was their looks; they all have brown skin, curly, long hair, and eyes that were different hues of red."

"That's mildly fucking specific. It's like they're looking for someone." I stated aloud.

"That makes sense. There's no way that each girl could  look almost exactly like the other without there being an ulterior motive." Lava Reign chimed in.

"I can't disagree. All of the girls are of different nationalities. One was American, another was African, one Caribbean, another Spanish." Mirko looked at her file.

"It seems sporadic, inconsistent.....animalistic," Denai mumbled the last part as if she realized something.

"Yeah, they were kidnapped from different locations as well." She pulled up a map, and a lot of the girls lived in rural areas. While a select few were from the inner cities. It's like they started searching in high wooded areas first....like they're hunting some animals.

"We're going out to investigate further and get new information,"

"Newbies, you're going to patrol by yourselves today. Be on your best behavior and bring back any useful info, got it?"

"Got it." We said in unison.

The meeting was dismissed, but before we left for patrol, there was something I needed to know. The extra looked frazzled by the information they gave us, like she knew something that no one else did.

"Hey, extra," I called out to her. She met my gaze as she waltzed up to me.

"Yes?"

"What do you know?" I asked her straightforwardly.

"What do you mean?"

"About the case, dumbass. "

"I don't know anything; this is fresh for me."

"Didn't look that way in the conference room. Your face tells on you every time. You know something." I could read her like an open book. Her face gives her away. Every time something eats away at her, she does this face scrunch that says, 'This shit's bothering me.'

"Look, this is news to me, like it is to you. I don't know any more than you do." I knew she was lying, but I'll keep this in mind in case some shit goes down.

"Fine, let's say you don't know anything. If I find out you do, I'll kill you." I walked off, leaving her in thought.

*End of flashback*

We stopped at a store in the area where one of the victims was kidnapped. Her name is Vicky Clemons. She was from the Bahamas, and she was only seventeen. She was supposedly shopping with friends when she disappeared. She worked at a convenience store around the corner from here.

The store had a surveillance camera pointing in the direction of the abduction. We asked to see any footage he might've had. We were allowed in, and once we got to the viewing room, we found out that the footage had been erased. Someone removed the evidence only minutes after taking the girl. The same could probably be said about the other abductees. We decided to also look into the store she worked at to see if she had any problems with anyone.

"I'm sorry, but she was a sweet girl. She wouldn't hurt a fly, so I can't imagine anyone hating her." Her manager showed us footage of her while at work the day before her kidnapping. She looked normal enough. There was nothing weird about her actions. These cases are getting weirder the more we look. We returned to the office with nothing but disappointment. It was like the girl simply vanished. Nothing was fucking left of her. Just people's memories of her.

" Did you two find something?" Lava asked

"Nothing of note. Her behavior before she was taken was normal." Denai explained

"She didn't have any enemies. She was clean." I added in.

"That's strange.....Thank you, two. You can go home for the day. We'll pick back up on this tomorrow." He waved us off, and we took our leave.

I wasn't too enthusiastic about the day, but there was nothing we could do until we got more evidence. And to make matters worse, the perps got rid of any piece of evidence we could have found. We were perpetually screwed.

"Katsuki, what do you think is happening to those girls?" Denai asked, walking beside me.

"Hell if I know. Everything about these cases is eerily unsettling. They don't make sense at all." A dead calm fell over us, and I couldn't help but wonder still if she had anything to do with what's going on.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yesterday's mission was a bust. We didn't find anything useful, not shit. And today we weren't called in, so I'm assuming Mirko's holding off on the investigating. With nothing else to do, I woke up early to get my training in. I took in what she said, working on my quirk stamina and being less aggressive. It would be better to just work on the stamina, but those two things go hand-in-hand.
I got deep into my training. I'm talking tunnel vision focused. I felt like someone was creeping up on me, so I turned around. I saw Shitty hair walking over with his training gear on.
"The hell do you want, Shitty hair?" I wiped the sweat from my face with a towel.
"I came down here to train with you, man." He dropped his stuff, taking a fighting stance.
"Fine by me." I proceeded to whoop his ass. I usually let off some steam by blowing up trees and shit, but a muscle-brained moron will have to do.
"What's got you all irritated?" He slumped against a tree, panting like he had just run a marathon.
"Some shit that's going down at Mirko's agency."
"What's going on?"
"There's this case going on, I can't give any details, but let's just say the shit is odd." I stretched my limbs to give myself some relief.
"Wait, are you talking about the one with the kidnapping?"
"How do you know that?!"
"Well, FatGum and Mirko are working on it together, so I thought you knew,"
"Anyway, that case completely threw me for a loop when I first heard it. "
"Something's not right about it, and I can't put my finger on it."
"We can mull over it when our agencies meet for the final plan or whatever, but for now let's worry about sparring."
"Tch. So you can get your ass beat again?"
"Ha ha. Real funny..."
