Sobu High, a school like any other, except for its stricter admission requirements.
Classes proceed as usual; students study while others use the courtyard for sports.
Amidst their activities, a certain student wastes time on the rooftop.
"Everything seems normal, but something feels off."
No matter how many times he observes the school from there, nothing seems amiss, yet his instincts suggest otherwise.
"Am I going crazy? Maybe I shouldn't have watched that anime until dawn, although it was interesting."
The past few days have been uneventful, no calls for any jobs, so he indulges in what any unemployed person might do: staying at home watching anime.
As someone accustomed to demon hunting, he finds it amusing to watch anime about demons.
Sure, there are similarities, but the rest is inconsequential; reality surpasses fiction, at least for him.
"Pondering over that is pointless."
Desmon dismissed those thoughts and prepared to sleep.
Time passed normally, and now it's time for various clubs to begin their activities.
Students left their classrooms, some headed home, others to their clubs, and among them, Desmon walks.
Normally, he would take Alastor, but since he jumped out of the window, Shizuka confiscated his sword. Now Alastor is placed in the staff room and is only returned to Desmon when they both return home.
It's not that Shizuka is cruel for taking that edition, but if Desmon continues to do things beyond human capabilities, others might suspect he's not human.
Desmon doesn't care, as he has no problem admitting he's a demon to those who ask, but according to Shizuka, appearances must be maintained. After all, why would a demon hunter enroll in a school?
That information could cause unnecessary fear among the students. It's solely Shizuka's decision based on some anime and manga she's seen, so Desmon reluctantly agreed.
That's why stricter control was imposed, but still, Shizuka remains unaware of his other Devil Arm, allowing him to leave at any time.
After a short walk from the rooftop to his club, Desmon entered as he does every day.
Having already mastered writing and speaking Japanese perfectly, he has no reason to keep coming, but Shizuka forces him to stay, as leaving him alone might lead to reckless behavior; she prefers to keep an eye on him.
"Desmon-kun, as always, you're the last to arrive." The club president pointed out again.
Desmon ignored her, taking a seat and then diving into his cellphone, one of his few pleasures.
Since he despises overly strict people, and Yukinoshita falls into that category.
"Desmon-san, it's not very kind to respond to Yukinon that way," Yuigahama, a kind and cute club member, was the first to correct him.
"I'll keep that in mind."
"Then it's okay!" She said cheerfully.
"Why do I feel like you listen more to Yuigahama-san?" Yukinoshita found it curious how Desmon tends to listen more to Yuigahama than to her.
"It's easy, Yuigahama is like a pet."
"Huh?" Yuigahama didn't expect that.
"I see," Yukinoshita nodded and returned her attention to her book.
