"Are you sure you left it on your desk?"
"I can't think of anywhere else I could have left it."
Desmon continued searching for the documents Shizuka had indicated in one of the Sobu High offices.
Just ten minutes ago, he was relaxed watching TV at Shizuka's apartment, but luck turned against him as he was sent to Sobu High to fetch some papers.
Shizuka needed to review some important documents she had to send the next day, but since tomorrow was a holiday, the school would be closed. And now that it was nighttime, it would be complicated for her to enter, unless she had a guy who could come and go easily.
Though Desmon initially refused, he eventually reluctantly agreed. After all, he was living rent-free with Shizuka, and he hadn't been able to find a job lately.
Dressed in his classic black trench coat, dark jeans, and a white shirt; his favorite style, he began walking to Sobu High.
It's not that he wanted to enjoy the quiet of the night; it's that he was very weakened in terms of his demonic energy, so he couldn't afford to use Kurox to move faster.
The only way to cure his condition was to find the guardians of hell and defeat them to regain his energy, but despite spending a good amount of time surveilling the surroundings, traveling from city to city, he found no trace.
In recent days, his body has felt heavier, his strength greatly diminished, which is why he didn't bring Alastor when he left, preferring to avoid the burden of carrying the devil arm, which was quite heavy.
"I can't find it."
"Keep looking, it must be around somewhere."
Desmon continued his relentless search for those documents, yet after several minutes, there was no result.
"Answer me something, Shizuka, before you sent me here, did you check your bag for the documents?" Desmon raised an eyebrow; he knows Shizuka, so it's possible that could be the case.
"Huh? What kind of question is that?" She got up from the sofa where she was watching an anime on TV and walked to her bag. It's not that Desmon was right, but she wouldn't be so foolish as to make such a mistake. "As I told you, the documents are not..."
She fell silent.
"They were in your bag, weren't they?" Desmon said with a smirk on his face, which wouldn't be noticed by Shizuka since they were far apart from each other.
"Everyone makes mistakes..." She shifted her eyes with some guilt.
Without further ado, she took the documents from her bag and placed them on her desk, beginning to do her work.
"I'm starting to be glad we're only family on paper; I wouldn't want to have such an idiotic aunt." Desmon sighed as he walked out of the office, through the halls of Sobu High.
"I heard that, brat, nonetheless, I'm your elder, so you should show me proper respect."
"An elder dancing to the tune of magical girls' music?"
"That was just a weird coincidence, I've explained it to you already!"
That's their relationship, after a long time living together, they started to get along well, like close friends. They sleep under the same roof, so it's to be expected.
"Those are just ..."
Desmon was getting ready to tease Shizuka some more, but the words didn't come out of his mouth, not because he didn't know what to say, but because of the figure that also stopped to look at him.
