Nori's POV:

I take those thoughts out of my head. There's no way I could like Minho. He's super popular and girls faint in the sight of him. Him and I just don't make sense.

In the middle of dozing off on my thoughts, the bell rings, making me jump up from my seat a little. I stand up and gather all my books and papers as I head out the door.

Struggling to keep my books steadily in my arms, I feel a soft tap on my right shoulder. I turn around and I see Minho. "Oh hey, what's up?" He smiles, "About the tutoring thing... Is it cool if we do it after your shift today?"

I think about it for a second, "Yeah, sure! I get off at around 7:00." Minho furrows his eyebrows, "Are you sure? It took you awhile to answer. It's completely fine if you can't or don't want to, no one's forcing you."

Feeling flustered, I obviously give in. "Yeah, I'm completely sure. Where should we meet up?" His face immediately lights back up again and we start to walk as we talk. Minho rests his arm on my shoulder, "Where do you wanna meet up? Anywhere you're cool with, I am too."

I pretend to think while looking up at the ceiling, "Hmmm... What about Jacob's Ladder Coffee? I heard it was pretty quiet there." "That sounds great, Nori. See you there!" Minho takes his arm off my shoulder and heads to his locker as I head to mine.

"Ouuu, what was that about??" Felix slowly creeps behind my back, scaring me as he walks beside me. I roll my eyes, "Nothing, he just asked me to help him with math, that's all." "You're definitely not gonna believe this, but I think he has a slight crush on you." I roll my eyes once more, "How many times are you gonna tell me that someone has a 'crush' on me? Quit it, Lee."

He giggles, "That's because it's true. I wouldn't lie to you about that stuff, you know."

He's right. Felix isn't the type of person to mess with my feelings, especially if it's about boys liking me.

Noticing that I suddenly went quiet, Felix nudges my shoulder, "Whatever, I'll see you at lunch."

Felix turns his body to me with chopsticks full of jajangmyeon in his hand, "So Nori, what're you doing after school? This new movie's out and I wanna watch it with someone. You free?" As soon as I opened my mouth to talk, the brown haired boy in front of Felix and I does it before me, "She's with me after school."

Felix looks suspicious, "What? are you two going on a date or something?" I almost spit out my food, "No!! We're just having a little study thing after my shift." I look over to Minho grinning at us.

"Ohhh right! I guess I'll just ask Hyunjin to watch it with me. Speaking of Hyunjin, where's he been? He hasn't sat with us in like a week." Felix looks around the cafeteria. He spots him sitting with another set of friends. Minho scoffs, "Did we do something or is he just a level higher than us now. Aren't those the jocks?" The boy beside me looks offended, "Okay, who said they're more popular than us? All they talk about is basketball." He rolls his eyes. "Felix, isn't basketball your sport?" I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah I guess, but I'm not that enthusiastic about it like they are." I shrugged my shoulders and got back to eating.

I'm currently serving customers in my work apron and hat. Hyunjin got his position as a cashier like me. "Am I working this right?" The black haired boy turns his head to me from the cash register beside mine. "Uh yeah, that's good." I dryly respond. He nods his head and gets back to the cash register screen.

"Hey, we've uh been kind of distant lately. Don't you think?" Hyunjin chuckles awkwardly. I pause my movements. Being aware of what his father said, I just nodded back to him. Through the corner of my eye, I see a frown develop on his face. "I guess that's just how friendships work, you know. Most of them never last." I build up the confidence to look up at him.

"Ours could've, though."

My eyes widen, "How so?" Hyunjin lightly sighs, "I don't know. You kind of just stopped talking to me. I'm not sure what caused it, but I'm sorry if I did anything."

Now I feel bad. How am I supposed to respond to that?

I look down at my screen and back up to his face, "You did nothing. I promise." I softly place a smile on my lips and my hand on his shoulder to reassure him. Hyunjin's expression seems relieved, making him smile a little too.
