Slime Cat

Chapter 3

A sound was coming from downstairs, a lot of clanking and swift air, it woke Nick from his sleep, but didn't wake Riah from her's. He got up, went downstairs, and looked in the kitchen. There was no one there, and the pots and pans were where he had left them last night, so Nick assumed that Drew had woken up and was getting a midnight snack.

He then makes his way into the living to which he sees Drew with a butcher's knife ready to hack his own arm.

"DREW! What the hell are you doing?!?" Nick yells.

"Uh, hear me out...this is gonna be cool."

"No, NO, that is not cool, you could die, we could go to jail, you are not cutting your arm off."

"It's fine, I have a superpower, and I was just testing it out, don't worry, I'm gonna be fine."

"What superpower? What are you talking about?"

"I call it... SLIME REGENERATION, I can heal my body from any wound in less than a minute. I was just trying to see if I can keep doing that."

"But... you can't, what if you hurt yourself, what if it's a one time thing, or it doesn't work, then what?"

"Well, then it doesn't work."

"Oh my god!"

Ignoring Nick's warnings Drew hacks his arm off and to Nick's surprise it grows back quick.

"I told you it worked!"

Nick is speechless, he just looks at the slimy cat.

Drew has a look of accomplishment on his face.

"O- Oh wow, well this opens up a lot more things, you're immortal!" Nick exclaims.

"Yeah, I guess so."

"Why would you even test it like that?"

"I wanted to know, I thought I was gonna die, and that would've been it."

"How exactly did you find this out?"

"I was searching the cupboards for something edible when this same butcher's knife fell on my leg, cutting it off, I thought I was a goner but then, poof, there it was again! I thought it was a joke at first, but it wasn't, it was real."

"I wonder what else you can do..."

"I'm not gonna be your lab rat"

For the first time since he woke up, Nick finally checks the clock, It's 3:24 AM.

"What? i didn't realized it was 3am" Nick says with a surprised expression.

"How about a tour of the island Nick?" Drew says.

"Good idea, come on the island isn't that big"

Nick grabs Drew, grabs his keys and runs towards the door, turning the knob to open it and slamming it after taking a foot outside. Nick  then runs to his motorcycle, gives Drew a helmet, starts the engine.

"Where do you wanna go first?" Nick asks

"Do you guys have a..." Drew says muffled near at the end of the sentence thanks to the wind.

"What did you say?"

"I said do you guys have a..." Drew says once again muffled at the end of the sentence.

"Can you repeat that one more time?"

"DO YOU GUYS HAVE A SUPERMARKET ON THE ISLAND!" Drew screams.

"Oh, ok... Yeah we have one, wanna go there" Nick says then looks at Drew through one of the side mirrors.
