Did Jona skipped a chapter or two? Did she accidentally go into the future?

The Gibraltar versus Netherlands game just finished. Jona got some photos for the Liverpool account on Instagram, and some pictures for her to look at when she gets bored.

Jona, Wanda, and Max are at the hotel packing their stuff up for tomorrow's leave. After Jona packed her stuff, she decided to go for a walk into the town of Almancil. She walked out of the hotel to a cool breeze and shivered a bit.

It was quiet, quiet enough for Jona to hear her inner thoughts. She felt a bit thirsty and remembered the next block had a convenience store. So she started to head that way.

In the other part of her mind, she didn't get a chance to talk with Virgil. From what Wanda said, "he's locked in", and he's told everyone that he doesn't want to be talked with unless it was about the games. Of course everybody respected that and let him be. But once Jona gets back to Liverpool, Virgil's the first person she's talking to.

Jona groaned to herself and saw the convenience store lights. She needed some warmth fast. She entered the store and went straight to the drinks. Even though it's cold, Jona still craved the taste of something cold and bubbly. She settled for a bubbly lime drink she never seen before and went to pay for it.

She walked out of the store and opened her cold drink. She called herself crazy because it'll only make her more cold.

Jona slowly walked her way back to the hotel. The night seemed to comfort her, and the bright moon only made it better. Sipping away at her drink, surrounded by a beautiful night sky, and living the life she wanted, she never wanted to leave.

But her mind wandered into a spiral in a split second.

She saw someone she recognized. It was Virgil, she knew it too. She only knew it was him because he's wearing a light purple sweater with the letters VVD on the sleeve. Jona made that sweater as a late birthday gift.

He was leaning against a light post and was on his phone. This was her chance. She hesitated and didn't know what she would say. She felt like a deer seeing headlights. Stood still, with her drink in her hands. This just made her more colder.

Just frozen in thought.

Until a flashing light took her out of her trance state.

She looked at direction of the flahsing light, and saw Virgil with a big smile.

"I finally found you! I fucking missed you JJ!" Virgil started to walk towards her and Jona let out a laugh of relief. Finally, fucking finally!

Before she can say anything, he embraced her, almost squeezing.

"I know crying is unprofessional, but just this once." He whispered. Jona stood still but hugged him back, making sure not to spill her drink. Jona heard him sniffling.

"Please don't cry." Joan pleaded because she can feel the tears forming too, and him crying would just make her burst into tears.

"Nah, it's just the cold." Virgil whispered. Jona felt his tears as she put her hands on his face. She backed away from the hug and saw the tears streaming down his face. "JJ, why, just why..."

Jona knew exactly what he was talking about.

"So much stuff, so much opportunities I didn't want to go to waste. But at the same time, I couldn't help but think about your feelings and the damage I done to our relationship. I'm so sorry love. I'm sorry." Jona saw Virgil's expression changed. He smiled a weak smile and put his hand on her shoulder.
