Falling In Love With You

Part 21

It had only been a week since Siddharth and Avneet had married each other, when they came across the financial instability...once again.

"Mom, I need some further degree to get a good and stable job. I want to apply to the university," Siddharth said while sipping the hot cup of tea.  

"Its okay. Avneet will be safe with me," Vibha gulped the last peg of tea. 

"But mom... I can't really trust them. It will be really difficult. Avneet has studied till her higher secondary. She needs to pursue a degree too. Our future is uncertain... She still has time, she can go to a college but then, her safety...." Siddharth sighed. 

"Also... the financial problem," he hung his head low. 

"I know you felt bad when Pallavi humiliated Avneet... I want her to continue with her studies too, but the barriers we have are...." Vibha paused not knowing what to say. 

A day ago, the neighbour's daughter, Pallavi who is extreme proud with her greed and beauty had come to visit Avneet. After an encounter with the older neighbours, everyone spoke about her beauty. Pallavi didn't like it, therefore coming to judge her, she humiliated Avneet badly. 

"You think you are very beautiful right? You look gross than my dog," Pallavi remarked looking at Avneet. 

"How far are you even educated huh?" Pallavi couldn't speak further as Siddharth walked up and stood beside Avneet. 

"Pallavi, please leave the premises of my house before I get provoked to say something that will hurt you badly," Siddharth warned her. 

"Don't get too proud on rejecting me Siddharth! I have a thousand other boys running behind me," Pallavi, who was rejected by Siddharth once spoke out of her frustration. 

"Please entertain them then," Siddharth closed the door of his house. 

"I am ten times better than your filthy wife!" 
Both Siddharth and Avneet heard Pallavi shouting. 

Siddharth looked at Avneet who had her head hung low. She mouthed him a sorry and went to the kitchen. 
At the night, she asked him if she could read the books Siddharth has read to pursue his degree. 

Presently, Siddharth and Vibha sat on silence. They wanted to do a lot, but 'money', it stopped them. 

"Mom, I will take a part time job. I also have the scholarships... Maybe I can manage my studies from them. And, your earnings, maybe we can use then for her college," Siddharth was fidding his fingers. 

"Let's hope that will help," Vibha sighed. "It will be tougher than you are thinking."

They heard the door knob of Siddharth's room opening. Avneet was done bathing. 

"Avneet, come sit here," Vibha called her. 
She nodded and sat beside her. 

"Avneet, would you like to continue your studies?" Vibha asked.
Her eyes widened. 

"M-mom... but how will that be possible?"
"If you want to continue dear, we will manage it somehow," Vibha smiled. 

Avneet looked at Siddharth. He nodded.
"What if I fail to keep the pace up with studies?" Avneet gazed down. 

"Why are you thinking of fail even before beginning?" Siddharth frowned his brows. 
These one week, Avneet has learnt a lot from Vibha. All the superstition she was kept in were not appearing real to her. She seemed overcoming the superstitions.
Vibha isn't like those mother-in-laws she has heard, Siddharth has not even raised his voice on her, she got nothing except love and care from them.
