It is not everyday when the sun rises from the west, but it sure was such a day when the city's greatest hero, Crimson Blade, turned in his resignation letter to the Hero Soc.
Being a hero is a matter of great dignity and pride, despite your identity being kept a secret. A salary enough to live comfortably, and an apartment that came free with the job. People with powers dream and train for this, everyone knew that only fools would decline such an opportunity.
The news called Crimson Blade such a fool and a doppelganger after his recent kidnapping, but only three people in the city knew the truth.
The President, Vengeance, and Crimson himself.
Crimson Blade disregarded his title, he was known only as Elliot now. There was no point in protecting old rich men who exploited the poor and the helpless, and it was useless protecting a president that would pick a dime over his civilians.
After learning the truth, Elliot couldn't help but hate his job, his government, his past life. Each second he worked, he knew what was really happening behind the scenes, and it was suffocating him. The only thing that kept him going was the treaty, a promise of an escape from this horrible job. Jaque Williams would die with his money before considering that the city needs protection.
When he finally left, as stated, he got a pension, enough for him to live comfortably if he ignored all luxury and never increased his family, and ignored inflammation.
As life went on, Elliot couldn't help but feel useless. He believed that Jaque Williams would retire, for once he would think about his city, and Elliot would be able to protect the city like he always dreamed to do. Well, he was protecting the city. He was protecting them by helping Vengeance kill Jaque.
Soon, the House would blow up. Elliot wouldn't be there to protect those assholes, in fact he didn't even want to protect them. Frankly, he could care less if some 80 year olds die. People die everyday.
He carefully 'forgot' to mention that the President's life was in danger when he was interviewed for two weeks straight after he was kidnapped. All they wanted to know if Vengeance was as dangerous in person as he appeared to be. Apparently some people needed this information to make Vengeance an alpha male in their fanfictions.
Elliot fed their fears about Vengeance, though in private he would admit that Rival felt more dangerous.
He continued talking to the city's greatest villain, Vengeance, and planning the President's demise. As a previous hero, he knew quite a bit about the President's schedule. It was delicate information, yet Elliot gave it to Vengeance like it was a cookie recipe. The boys grew close over the weeks of planning.
It had been seven weeks since Justice rescued Crimson Blade, and now she worked hard to cover his shifts while he plotted against her boss.
Elliot had just finished telling Vengeance more about the president's schedule from his sources when the television caught his ears.
"President Williams gives a green light to Anti-LGBTQ bills, which state that any citizen who witnesses a gay marriage has the rights to shoot the grooms." said the woman on the screen. It seemed that even though she didn't like the news, she had to let the people know.
He opened Vengeance's chat again, and began typing.
Angy Boy 😡
Dude did you hear the news
An anti lgbtq bill just got the green light
People can shoot gay people getting married now
