"Here. My ride is here" She points at the taxi.

Calvin was in disbelief, he didn't think she was serious when she said she found a taxi at this hour of the day.

"I'm gonna go" She opens the door to the car.

Calvin pulls her by the waist quickly but gently. He closes the door and leans towards it, blocking her way into the car. He takes out his wallet and pulls out a 50.

"Sir, I'm sorry but she won't be needing your service anymore. Sorry for any inconvenience, have a good night." He hands over the 50 dollar bill to the driver.

"Alright, you too kids." The driver answers before speeding off.

Calvin walks past Taylor and back to the house.

Taylor on the other hand could not make out what just happened. She was confounded to his acts of generousity towards the taxi driver but at the same time questioning his motives.

"Wait, hey! Calvin, right?" Taylor calls out.

Calvin turns around, walking backwards this time. slowly still holding the empty glass in his hand. Taylor catches up to him.

"What did you just do?" She yells.

"Hey, hey, hey, woman, don't yell at me like that." He squints his eyes.

"Look, tonight was one of the worst nights of my life and I just cannot deal with you and your mind games anymore. I'm sorry for coming to your party uninvited, I'm sorry for the intrusion into your room and again I'm sorry for spilling that drink all over your shirt and bumping into you but that doesn't mean that I deserve to walk all the way home in these shoes." She almost cried.

"Wait, who said I was gonna let you walk home in those shoes?" He looks down at her feet. "Wait here." He instructs her.

Taylor wondered what he meant by that. "Does this mean Calvin the cold hearted man has transformed into a gentleman and ever so kindly wants to send me home?" She thought. She let out a smile.

A few minutes later Calvin walks back holding what seems to be a pair of hotel slippers.

"You're gonna walk home in these, you're welcome." He smiles devilishly while sipping into a new can of beer.

Taylor scowls, she's even more furious now than she was before and she has never been this angry at someone in her entire life. Her body was boiling, her fist clenched into a ball and teeth gritting loudly creating friction between them.

"OH MY GOD! Goodbye." She storms out on him. Taylor started walking towards the main road. She couldn't stand being around him anymore, even if that means walking home. She could feel her eyes begin to swell up and in a few minutes her cheeks were drenched in tears.

At the same time she could hear the engine of a car getting more audible by the second behind her.

"Hey, Taylor. Hey." A voice calls.

She looks to her left and sees Calvin in his Porsche.

"Taylor, get in the car." He mumbles.

She ignores him and continues walking.

"Taylor, stop ignoring me. Get in the car." He continues trying to get her attention.

"Hey look I was just kidding about making you walk all the way home." He chuckles.

Just then he realises she was crying.

"Taylor are you crying?" He puts both hands on the steering wheel and drives to a stop. He gets out of his car, and makes his way to her.

"Hey, why are you crying?" He whisperes quietly, but loud enough for her to hear while he grabs her by the shoulders.

Taylor didn't want to answer his question because she knew she would cry even more at the mention of Harry's name. So she looks away however unable to stop the descending tears.

"Look you don't have to tell me why, but you have to let me drive you home. As an apology for my.........ummmm 'arrogance' earlier I promise to stay quiet the whole ride home." He assures her.

Reluctantly, she agrees to his offer and let him walk her to his car. Opening the door for her and making sure she's comfortable in there.

Calvin gets onto his seat, and drives off.

"So where are we off to?" Calvin asks midway through the drive.

"1300 Carol Street." Taylor replies softly.

About 20 minutes later, they arrive at Taylor's apartment building. The mainroad was empty at this hour of the day. They had the street all to themselves. Both of them remained quiet. The silence was too beautiful to break.

Just as Taylor began to think of how different Calvin was right now, how sweet he was being, he breaks the silence which reassures her that Calvin hasn't changed the slightest.

"What are you waiting for? Get out." Calvin uttered.

"Thanks, for the ride home." Taylor smiles under her breath. She gets out of the car and climbs up her front porch. Dangling her keys before penetrating it through the key hole and rushing inside her apartment lobby. Taking one last look at Calvin and closing the door shut.
