No one's pov:

The smell of breakfast roamed free in the bunker. Emma woke up refreshed from her sleep. She got up, took her clothes, took a shower, and went to join the others for breakfast. "Good morning, Emma, you had a night of life, didn't you?" Ray said teasingly. "Huh, oh, good morning, Ray, but I sure did yesterday out of all days since I ALMOST got killed," she said, going into the kitchen. There was no one there but ray. "Hey, where are the others?" She asked, completelybaffled.  "Oh, they went to a nearby market like 1-2 hours away," he responded. "That sure is near," Emma said sarcastically. "Anyways, sit down and have breakfast." He said.

After breakfast

Emma explored more of the bunker since most of the times they would be different since back then she couldnt because of time she spent time making strategies on how to get her family to the human world and to have escape routes and such things but Ray was now peacefully read in the library reading books that he already read instead of reading like his life dependent it which was the case when they were getting hunted left and right.
"RAYY!" Emma yelled out. Ray immediately got up and figured out where she was. As he got closer, he realized that there was nothing but Emma's voice "Hey hey careful! I dont want you falling in, too!" Emma said, as Ray almost fell in the underground hole. "Oh, how'd this happen!?" He exclaimed, surprised. "Short story I basically was trying to explore to find different pathways and accidentally fell in," she said awkwardly. "Let me get a ladder," Ray said as he looked around like a mad man for a ladder.

After finally finding a ladder, Norman, Mujika, and Sonju returned as Emma got out as if nothing had ever happened.

"Emma," Mujika called out sweetly. "Oh, ur back," Emma said with delight. "We forgot to bring firewood. Could you go out and bring us some if it's not too much trouble?" Mujika said. Ray overheard and stepped in. "Yes, sure," Emma said. "I'll go with her. You know what happened last time if it wasn't for me? " Ray said as he packed armory. "Okay, fine, you have a point," Emma said, mocking him. "Emma he's and you know it," Norman directed to Emma, being teasing.

As they left, there was only silence. "Ray? Why are you quieter than usual?" Emma said, breaking the silence. "Just thinking," he said, still lost in thought.

"Tag your it!" Emma said as she tagged Ray's arm. "Hey! There's no time for games, Emma!!" Ray yelled playfully as she stood behind a tree looking at him with a fire in her eyes. "You know you're going lose is that you dont wanna play rayyy~" she said slyly. Ray then ran to her tree and says "Your on Emma!" As he stood towering over her in a way pinning her onto the tree before she runs and he chases until they tire themselves out. Ray hides behind a tree before tagging Emma and crossing a river. "Hey, wait-" she said before she fell in and hurt her knee. He rushed back and asked, "Emma! Are you okay?" He asked, looking at her with a tenderness in his eyes. "Yeah, it's nothing much, just hurt in the moment she said before seeing what actually seeing what hurt her knee. "Holy cow..." she said in amusement. "A spearhead?!" Ray was shocked, nothing like that had ever happened it wasn't piercing through her knee but was still logged in there. "Nothing we can't fix at the bunker." Ray reassured her.
"You're right." she said, looking into his eyes with attention.
He picked her up while she wrapped her hands around his neck. Till now, she realized how much his physical appearance changed. From his height to his features.
She heard a roaring in the distance. She looked at Ray with sharp dialed pupils. "I heard it too," he told her as he set her down behind a tree, not leaving her side as he shot to the wild demons who could no longer be saved. "I don't think I can move anymore...I'm tired," Emma said, pulling Ray into a warm embrace as she nuzzled her head into him. "I'll carry you again. I'm not tired," he said, feeling flushed by this act of affection. "Hm," Emma said, her eyes watering.

"We should head back it's almost dark," Ray stated."Yeah, I know," she said, getting ready to be picked up. As the travel happened, he could stop thinking of how he held her even if it was for a moment, but he bottled those feelings since he knew she wasn't his or that's what he thought.
