Chapter three

[No one's pov]

"Hey guys, we're back," Ray said nonchalantly. "Where's the firewood?" Norman asked. "Emma got hurt, and we didn't have enough time, sorry." He said, taking Emma to his room and getting supplies to wrap her knee and put antibiotics. She winced as he took it out and fixed it as best as possible. "You'll be fine," he said, looking at her. "I'm sorry I was reckless today. I let my guard down," she said "Hey hey it's fine. we all get tired at one point. There's no shame in that, alright?" Her eyes sparked at him as she pulled him by his shirt for a hug as he was standing and she was sitting. "Thanks, Ray," she said, choking out her words and tears in her eyes. "No problem, Emma." they way he said her name made him feel warm and cozy with her.

[Ray's pov]

As I hugged her, I could feel my cheeks and ears get warm. As she let go, she lay on my bed, looking up. "Are you going to sleep in your room?" I asked, looking at her lay. No answer. Till I noticed she fell asleep. I thought to myself I guess I'll sleep in her bedroom. "Ray..stay?" She asked innocently. I thought for a second, my heart going 100 miles per hour, but having to act like it wasn't a big deal. "Sure, but go get ready to sleep and take a shower." I said nonchalantly as if it wasn't a big deal. we've done this before when we were 12, no biggie, right? I thought, but I was so wrong. "Okay! It'll be like the old days!" She said, rushing to get ready. It would be no biggie if I hadn't started liking her knowing my friend did before me and still does.

But I'm not that type of guy. I wouldn't do anything to hurt her.

Moments later, we were done getting ready it was dead silent. Everyone was asleep. Emma crept into my room quietly so Norman wouldn't get the wrong impression. Moment later, Emma was snuggled with me in my bed soundly. My head raced with thoughts of how stunning she looked.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. I got up in a way not to disturb her slumber. It was Norman. I slightly opened the door as for him not to see Emma in my bed snuggled up. "Heyyy Norman, watcha doing up so late??" I said nervously. "You're acting weird, but was Emma okay? I'm guessing she is asleep, that's why she won't answer her door." She said suspiciously. "Yeah, she is she's probably soundly alseep." I said. "Okay, goodnight," I said quickly before he could say more. "Weird," I heard him mumble.
