Hi! In this particular fic, Tratie is not the main focus. Of course they will still be a big part of it but I've mainly tried to give Katie some backstory. Don't worry though, every other one is probably going to be 100% tratie. This one is pretty long but I hope you'll still read it.

Side note: some characters here are oc's that I added. So if a character you haven't heard of is mentioned you know why.

The night before her birthday, Katie sat by the campfire with her head on Silena's shoulder. She was so tired she had to fight to keep her eyelids open. Every limb felt like lead and everything she saw seemed more distant than usual. Only the cheerful sound of the song from Cabin 7 kept her awake. She resisted the urge to put her entire body weight on Silena and simply fall asleep on the spot.

"Long day?" the Aphrodite girl asked.

"A long day." Katie confirmed.

She had been woken up at 5.30am by one of her siblings screaming hysterically in the dark, waking everyone up. Katie had been quick on her feet, ready to fight the monster that was attacking her.

When the lights came back on, she found a crying and panicked Sigrid curled up in the corner of her bunk bed, but no monster in sight. Instead, there was a snake dangling from the ceiling above her bed. It was not real, but it looked really creepy. No wonder Sigrid was freaked out.

It had taken a while for Katie to calm her little sister down and then get everyone back to sleep. She had tried to look at the whole situation calmly and maturely, but inside she was furious. She didn't need to wonder who had hung the snake, of course it had been them.

It was one thing to prank her all the time. They had always done it, so she was used to it and knew how to deal with it. But to play a prank on one of her little sisters by strategically placing what she was afraid of over her bed? That was going too far. She didn't think it was a good idea to trudge to Cabin 11 in the middle of the night and wake everyone up. No, she would have to wait until morning, then she would yell at them until they apologized. She went to bed, but couldn't get back to sleep afterwards.

The next morning she went to the Hermes cabin to give the twins her usual morning lecture.

When she knocked on the door, she was greeted not by the twins, but by their brother Cecil. Before she could say anything, he interrupted her.

"They're not here," he said in a tired tone.

She tried to look behind his shoulder to see if he was lying and they were actually hiding there. When she could see nothing but a bunch of kids running around and throwing clothes at each other, she turned back to Cecil.

"Then where's..."

"Heya Katie-Kat!"

Great.

She turned around and saw none other than Travis Stoll himself. She figured it was Travis, since Connor didn't call her that.

She gritted her teeth and tried not to start screaming.

"Do you want to explain yourself?"

"What are you talking about, Kates?" He said innocently, but still with that stupid grin that made him look like he found the whole situation very funny.

"Oh, you know exactly what I'm talking about." She hissed, stepping closer and closer to him.

His grin widened with every step.

"Do you think that was funny? Because it wasn't." She snorted as she pointed to her cabin.

"Come on Kates, it was a bit funny," he tilted his head to the side, still grinning at her with his beautiful blue eyes that she could stare at for hours.
