The next morning, Yunho took his own car back to the tiny café. His anxiety made him leave early, then kept him locked in his car five minutes past the time he was supposed to meet Wooyoung.
He knew showing up late looked bad, but he was just so nervous.
Why had he agreed to this?
Why was he even here?
He didn't do this kind of thing.
What was he thinking?
Was... Was Wooyoung wondering where he was?
"Come on. Man up." He growled at himself and slapped his cheek a couple of times, then forced himself to exit his car and walk inside.
All his nerves vanished the second he saw Wooyoung sitting at the same table, bent over a bowl of eggs. Eunji was nowhere to be seen, so he figured she must be in the kitchen.
With one deep breath, Yunho fluffed his hair, straightened his shirt, and walked over to the booth.
He slid into his side while he spoke, feeling jittery but excited at the same time. "How's the egg peeling going? Any better today?" He asked, trying to stay calm and cool.
Wooyoung looked up at him, eyes wide, then leaned away from him a little. "Excuse me?"
"Oh, I'm not making fun or anything!" Yunho gave a nervous, boxy smile and waved his hand back and forth. "I genuinely want to know!"
"Why? Can I help you?"
"We... We said we'd meet again this morning?" Yunho felt his heart sink a little. "To continue the fun we were having yesterday?"
Wooyoung shook his head slowly. "What are you talking about? I don't even know you..."
Then he was sliding out of his seat and calling for Eunji, leaving Yunho sitting at the table, completely stunned.
"What is it, Honey?" Eunji called, then appeared through the door to the kitchen, cleaning her hands with a towel. She froze the second she saw Yunho. "Oh."
"Noona, this man-"
"It's alright, I'll take care of him, you go wait in the kitchen."
Yunho could hardly believe what was happening. He stood and held out a hand to try and stop Wooyoung from leaving. "Wait! What's going on? Did I-"
Wooyoung just glanced at him from over his shoulder, looking genuinely scared, and hurried to the kitchen.
"Come with me." Eunji said sharply, then grabbed Yunho's wrist to drag him from the café, which he didn't make easy because his eyes were fixated on the doors now forming a barricade between him and Wooyoung.
She let go when they got outside and Yunho immediately turned to her and said, "What the hell is going on?"
"I need you to leave." Eunji placed her hands on her hips to block him from going back inside.
"Why?? Did I do something to upset him? I don't understand!" Yunho's voice grew more and more frustrated, though he didn't care, even when it drew the attention of a few people walking by.
Eunji sighed and relaxed her stance a little. "You didn't do anything wrong. Wooyoung... Wooyoung is a very special boy."
"I know, that's why I wanted to come back today." Yunho lowered his voice to admit shyly.
His words or tone must have meant something, because Eunji gave him a sad smile and sighed again. "If I had known you two made plans, I would have told you not to come back..."
