"Are we there yet," Johnny whined from his blue car seat, bored coloring in his walrus coloring book.
"No, why?" I asked, maybe he was hungry, it was about lunch time on our trip to Aunt Mimi's.
"I gotta go wee wee."
"Johnny, there's no gas stations for quite some time," Ringo replied.
"Oh."
"You do have your nappy on, right?" Paul asked in concern.
"Yeah."
"Paul, that's kind of mean. The nappy is for emergencies. Not for a regular potty."
"I was just making sure he had it on in case he couldn't hold it anymore, Riley."
"Well, you don't need to snap."
Then, we saw the dreaded bump sign.
"Aw, shit!" I muttered.
"Language!" George reminded.
"Oh, Geo woke up from his kip," Ringo teased.
"Aw, shut up! It's not wrong to take a short kip."
"I'm just playing with ya. Good grief!"
Then BUMP!
"Mummy, I wee weed."
"It's okay, Johnny, I'll clean you up in a little bit."
"It nasty!"
"I know. Just be patient."
"Okay, Mummy."
Once we got to a rest stop, I realized how bad he had to go.
"I try."
"I know you did. You're such a big boy for that," I grinned, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
"Mummy proud?"
"Of course I am. Just like a big boy you held it. And for quite a long time I must say."
"Yay! Mummy proud!"
"Woah now, Cowboy! Let's get your nappy back on before you do anymore riding."
"Okay, Mummy."
As a reward, I got him a small milkshake, but what I didn't realize was that it would upset his tummy.
"Mummy, my tummy hurt."
"I'm sorry, Johnny."
"It hurt a lot."
"Do you need a potty break?"
"I think so."
I got him to a gas station, and boy did he feel better afterwards.
"Mummy! I feel better! No more tummy ache!"
"That's great, Johnny."
We finally got to Aunt Mimi's house and she was so proud of her big boy.
