Diluc was peacefully driving when suddenly fish father suddenly starts speaking

Crepus: I wanted to become a knight when I was your age...

Diluc was confused by this so he turned to look at him father.

Crepus: ...however, I wasn't fit for the job, the gods also had other plans for me...but you've succeeded where I failed...the knights of favonius are lucky to count someone as brilliant as you among their ranks

Diluc: please don't belittle yourself, father...you contribute to Mondstadt as much as the knights but in a different way

He said as he turned to the road as Crepus chucked knowing that his son was right

Crepus: you're right. Haha!

Diluc smirked, feeling smug knowing that his father knew he was right

Diluc: I know I am.

Crepus's smile faltered as he took the box that was beside him but not before putting a blanket over y/n after noticing that the sky went dark

Crepus: well...Diluc...I'm so proud of you, my son, you already have a daughter to take care of...

Diluc was surprised by his father, he didn't know why he was saying all of this as Crepus opened the box reviling a glove with a glass sphere attached to it that looked the same as the Pyro vision

Crepus: I guess you won't need this anymore...

Diluc was so confused about this so he turned again to look at him without noticing something approaching them and the carriage ran towards it, everything happened so fast and the thing that hit them was some sort of a dragon, Crepus took the glove and wear it and then took the sleeping y/n and pass her to Diluc

Diluc didn't know what to do, he thought that everything was fine but it was not then suddenly Crepus, his father charged at the beast and by the looks of it the glove that Crepus wore suddenly glowed maliciously

Diluc: father...! That power...how...

The dragon suddenly noticed Diluc and y/n on the corner so it decided to attacked at them but before it could even reach them, black flames that formed into a chain and it starts to strangle itself to the beast, burning it, it even injured the dragon heavily as it's blood went splattering everywhere, Diluc was shocked by this, he didn't know that his father has a vision at least that's what he thinks

Crepus: great job, you manage to defeat it...

Crepus managed to say before falling flat on the ground

Diluc:  now we...hey! Father?

Diluc placed y/n on the ground before going to his father during this Kaeya arrived at the scene along with some knights and saw blood everywhere, when he saw Diluc's horrified face he knew that his adopted father the one who took him in when his own father left him on the tavern the one who continued to raised him along with Diluc was now gone

As few days later,the funeral of Crepus Ragnvindr so it was all gloomy, the next day came and Diluc came back home quite early, y/n went to greet him but was ignored, y/n was saddened by this so she decided to make him a tea and went to his office, she didn't saw him there so she went to his room and noticed that he was packing his things, where is he going does he have a long term mission? She couldn't find any answer so she decided to went in anyway

Y/n: dad?...where are you going?

Diluc noticed y/n by the door, how could he have forgotten, he has someone else other than his father who cared for him but he has some things to delta with, he needs to know what this thing is, he then motion for her to come in and to his surprise she hugged him tightly

Y/n: please don't take too long dad...and come back safely...

She said dearingly, Diluc was taken back by what she said, it is as if she knew he was leaving but nonetheless smiled and patted her head

Diluc: I will...

A few hours later, the sun starts to set, the entire mansion still mourning but Diluc decided to leave as y/n bid him goodbye as he reassured her that he'll be back. Y/n went back inside as she waited for Kaeya to come home but end up sleeping instead on the door as Elzer was kind enough not to left her there and carried her back to her room to sleep, it also the same time as Kaeya came home bruised alone with some minor injuries but it seems it doesn't came from hillichurls, no it looked like someone fought him
