Chapter 5: Great Detention Escape

Detention was as dull and predictable as ever, with the rhythmic ticking of the clock serving as a cruel reminder of Nate's confinement. Seated at a desk in the quiet classroom, he sighed, glancing longingly at the window, wishing for an escape from the monotony.

Just as he resigned himself to serving out his sentence, the classroom door creaked open, and a familiar figure slipped inside. It was none other than Blade, the embodiment of coolness, wearing his trademark leather jacket and a mischievous grin.

"Nate, my man!" Blade whispered a hint of excitement in his voice. "Ready for an adventure?"

Nate's eyes widened; his detention-induced gloom was momentarily forgotten. "Blade? What are you doing here?"

Blade winked. "I heard you got stuck in detention for some doodles. That's no way to spend a Thursday afternoon. So, I thought I'd bust you out. You in?"

Nate's face lit up with a mixture of surprise and enthusiasm. "You're breaking me out of detention? That's like, the coolest thing ever!"

Blade chuckled. "Well, let's make it quick before Mrs. Godfrey catches wind of our little escapade. Follow my lead."

With the stealth of a ninja, Blade motioned for Nate to join him. The two slipped out of the classroom and navigated the empty hallways, their footsteps silent as they dodged the watchful eyes of teachers.

As they reached the exit, Blade held up a hand. "Hold up, Nate. We're not out of the woods yet. Time for a diversion."

With a twinkle in his eye, Blade reached into his backpack and pulled out a whoopee cushion. He strategically placed it near the faculty lounge door, stifling a laugh as the unmistakable sound echoed through the corridor.

The faculty lounge door swung open, and the teachers rushed out, their attention diverted by the unexpected noise. Seizing the opportunity, Blade and Nate slipped out the front door unnoticed.

Once they were safely outside, Nate couldn't contain his excitement. "Blade, that was incredible! I can't believe you broke me out of detention!"

Blade grinned. "Anything for a friend, Nate. Now, let's make the most of our newfound freedom. What do you say we grab some snacks and enjoy the rest of the afternoon?"

And so, with Blade by his side, Nate embarked on an unexpected adventure, leaving the woes of detention behind.
