DREWThe drive to the gym takes nothing less than 20 minutes.
I may or may have not overspeeded. Parking in the space that's always reserved for me, I get down from the car.
The parking lot was already getting crowded. It was always like that on Saturdays. Maybe because it's everyone's day off from work and they apparently just decided to spend it at the gym. Either ways, it meant more cash for me.
" Hey dude" I hear Jude's voice calling from the other side of the parking lot. I raise a questioning brow, surprised that he wasn't actually hung over.
"What's up" I ask as he comes over to where my car was packed and we walk into the gym together
"Just decided to drop by and yunno lift some weights" he says showing his muscles. " It's one of the privileges I enjoy for being your best friend " he continues wriggling his brows and nudging my shoulder with his.
" Sophie's girlie attitude is rubbing off on you too much" I say teasing him. Sophie was his baby niece.
" Shut up man " he says and then we laugh. We were already in the gym and heavy grunts accompanied with the sounds of different equipments being used could be heard.
Laura my employee was busy with someone on the treadmill, probably a starter. I give her a small nod when she looks up at me and she replies with a short smile.
" Jake said he would drop by later on" Jude says heading towards the treadmill at the other end of the room.
"Alright. I'll be around somewhere" I say going of to assist a man trying to lift a dumbbell.
When the crowd seemed to have lessened, I head upstairs to my office to do some paper work. More people seemed to have registered at the gym in my absence.
It's already 5 in the evening, so I decide to call it a day. Jude had left a couple of hours ago. Putting on my jacket I head downstairs.
Laura is at the counter arranging files.
" I'll head out first" I say to her." Okay then" she says, lifting up her head to give me a small smile like she always does and returns back to what she was doing.
My phone dings in my pocket, I take it out and see that it's a text from Jude.
Jude: Jake and I are headed to the coffee shop down the street.
Me: See you in five.
Tuking the phone into my pocket. I head out to my car.
I'd never really been to the coffee shop before but Jude praises their coffee so much so I'd give it a try.
I walk into the cafe and I'm welcomed by a familiar scent. A sweet scent.
Jude sees me first and waves from the other end of the cafe.I walk towards them, still trying to figure out why the aroma of whatever was being baked seemed familiar.
"What's up" Jason is the first one to speak.
"It's all good" I say taking out a chair to sit on.
" This place has the best coffee you could ever think of having" Jude starts.
