Crystal, Travis, and Katelyn were walking down the boardwalk hours later. Crystal had followed behind them since she didn't want to cause any trouble for what had happened earlier.
While walking, Travis seemed pretty normal earlier. So, Crystal was slightly relieved that he wasn't always like this. But wouldn't he always try to fight it? Maybe he did, but Crystal had missed it. While lost in her thoughts, Travis and Katelyn stopped walking. Katelyn then spoke up, making Crystal perk up at what was going on.
"They're not going to just let us walk back to the resort. The Guardian Forces have everything blocked off. Remember what happened on the dock?" Katelyn had first pointed out.
"Baby, we'll be able to walk right through." Travis had said simply, as he turned to her. Travis then begun walking again. However, Katelyn had remained still, a worried look on her face. Crystal had noticed it, and walked over and stood beside her. "Katelyn...?" She had begun.
"Travis... you don't always need to act strong..." The blue haired female had pointed out. "It's okay..." Travis then walked back towards the blue haired female. "This isn't like last time. I promise I'll have my head about me."
"Good. Cause I really didn't want to kick your butt later." Katelyn had said, her expression becoming normal again. "Like you could anyways..." Travis had muttered with a chuckle. Katelyn was taken aback by Travis' statement. "What's that supposed to mean?" She had asked.
"Means you're way too slow!" Travis then turned around, then running off. "Oh, I swear, Travis!" Katelyn had started running after him. "Whoa! Wait for me, guys!" Crystal had called out, then running after the two. Fortunately, due to her being a werewolf, she was able to catch up with them pretty quickly.
But as soon as she caught up to them, she stopped. Something was going on. There was a small crowd of people, and a GF soldier nearby. And he was blocking a certain direction that was leading to the resort. Crystal had a bad feeling about this. She was afraid that Travis might get into bigger trouble. Crystal could hear the protests of the civilians.
"Come on! My suitcase is still back at the resort!"
"We just want to go back in there for a second to grab our belongings!"
"If you're missing something from the resort, then you need to file a report at the Guardian Forces office at the boardwalk."
"I've done that a week ago and they haven't done anything!"
"Just let us go to the resort!"
"Ugh... it's just like the docks..." Katelyn had muttered under her breath. Travis had stayed silent for a moment. He then turned around, walking towards where the GF soldier was at. "Ugh, Travis!" Katelyn had protested. Crystal had frowned. "I have a bad feeling about this..." She had muttered. Katelyn then turned towards Crystal. "Come on." She had said, grabbing onto Crystal's arm again, then walking to where Travis was, taking Crystal with her.
Once Katelyn and Crystal made it over to where Travis was standing, Crystal could see what was going on now.
"Sir! If you want something from the resort, then you need to-"
Suddenly, Travis grabbed the soldier by the arm, and Crystal gasped a little. However, she didn't say anything any further, as she didn't want to escalate this. It was silent for a few seconds. However, Travis had let go of the soldier's arm, catching the soldier off guard.
"H-Huh? Oh! I'm sorry, Travis! Right this way!" The soldier had stepped out of the way for Travis to walk through. Travis had chuckled and walked past the soldier. This had shocked the few civilians that were here.
"What?! You're letting him through?!" One of them exclaimed. "This is Travis! Of course, I'm letting him through!" The soldier had protested. "That's not fair! Let us all through!" Another one protested as well.
Katelyn had walked by with Crystal, still holding onto her arm. But before they could go any further, the soldier had blocked their way. "Ladies, you both need to wait! If you're missing something, then you need to file it with-"
"They're both with me." Crystal had heard Travis say. "Oh! I'm sorry! Both of you can head right through!" The soldier said, then stepping out of the way once more. Crystal had glanced back before turning away. She could hear the shouts of the civilians behind her.
"Why are they allowed to go through?!"
"You're letting them both go through too?! What the heck!"
"Let us through!"
"Calm down, everyone! If you want something from the resort, head back to the Guardian Forces office to fill out the missing belongings report!"
Katelyn had now let go of Crystal's arm, then turned to Travis. Crystal had stared at Travis with a look of confusion. How did that happen? "What just happened...?" Katelyn had asked. "I'm... just as confused as you are." Crystal had mumbled. However, deep down, she knew.
Something had taken over Travis the moment he grabbed onto the arm of the soldier. Crystal could easily tell. How else would the soldier just simply move out of the way without any convincing?
"I told you. We'd be okay. Come on." Travis had replied with a small smile. Katelyn and Crystal had started to follow Travis back to where their resort was. As soon as they made it, Crystal had closed the door behind her. Fortunately, since she was inside, she could walk around with her tail and ears about. So, that's what she did the moment she headed in.
"We should probably get some rest. How are you feeling, Travis?" Katelyn had asked, turning to him. Travis had smiled once more. "I'm feeling better, Katelyn. No need to worry." The white-haired male had replied.
"You both really need to stop grabbing my arm at moments like that." Crystal had said, sighing quietly. Katelyn and Travis laugh a little. "Sorry, it's a habit at this point." Travis had stated. "We're not doing that for Daisy's sake. We truly do care for you too. We might not know you well as much as Daisy, but we still care." Katelyn had said, placing a hand on Crystal's shoulder. The pink haired female slowly crossed her arms, sighing.
"Why don't you head upstairs, Crystal? Katelyn and I need to talk about something." Travis had suggested. Crystal had hesitated but had nodded anyway. "Fine, fine." She had said, before walking upstairs. She had now found herself upstairs, then sitting on her bed. She didn't want to go on her phone, as she still feared for Daisy's safety. Texting her wasn't the best idea right now. Calling wasn't either.
The only thing Crystal could do was pray for her safety. She knew Daisy was tough. She knew that Daisy could protect her and herself. But still, Crystal still worried for her. Wherever Daisy was, Crystal hoped that she was okay. Suddenly, she snapped out of her thoughts, hearing a voice.
"I know you're thinking about her right now."
Crystal had looked up, then seeing Travis standing there. However, she froze on the spot. The same expression from before was still there. She then glanced downstairs, seeing if Katelyn was there. Unfortunately, she wasn't.
"It's considerate of you to think of her best friend's safety. It's sweet. Too sweet."
Crystal's eyes widened, as she still froze on the spot. Was he planning on hurting her? That made the pink haired female tense up. "You really think I plan on hurting you? Calm down, will you? You haven't even opened your mouth that much earlier. But... I do want to tell you something."
Travis then walked closer to her, then lifting up her chin to face him. "Two best friends with a very close friendship. Friends for as long as you remembered. You two promised to never fall out and work things through. But there's one thing I'll have to ask..."
Crystal had narrowed her eyes. She was about to tell Travis to let go of her, when he said this.
"What would happen if you're both bound to lose each other?"
That caused Crystal's expression to change. It wasn't one with anxiousness anymore. Her heart had dropped, and the color drained from her face.
Travis could only chuckle, then turning around and walking off. Crystal could only stare as he had left.
Bound to lose each other? What did he mean?
