Apo's pov:

I sat in class trying not to fall asleep. I could feel the heaviness in my eyes. I don't think it was a perfect idea to stay up until 3 am...

but I at least had Graecie at my side right? like...always at my side! she was sitting next to me.

we were learning about the history of the fractions...now I could see why everyone hates the kites...I mean- they were so misunderstood! in my opinion but they need more!

basically, they were always doubted. the weaker fraction in the beginning. when this guy came and took the lead. the guy was ambitious and led the (then) weak fractions members into being courageous and ambitious just like him. They started to go on adventures, and gain treasure, though they didn't care much for the treasure just the battles that came with it. they fought sea creatures, the navy, and even other pirates. after a while of that the other fractions soon found out. and the kites were soon deemed as the "violent fraction". turns out there's a whole bunch of cons to being deemed as the violent fraction for the past 16 years. like how all of the kites got detention today instead of just kuervo! I kinda feel bad. I've wanted to be a kite forever! sad that the only ones who recruited me were the stupid nightingales...whatever you say, the nightingales are NOT my fraction! 

I could go on and on how they're not my fraction but I will save my breath. I refuse to waste my breath talking about a fraction as stupid as the nightingales...

back to the class.

I looked in front of me at the book labeled "The History Of The Pirate Isles."

we were off of the history of the pirate's fractions and on the history of the pirate Isles. 

they explained how the isles were made. how many pirates tried to take it down. they explained the natural beauty of the statue. 

I wanted to learn more about the pirates though. not the "natural beauty" of where the pirates sleep! or the "natural beauty" of the pirates themselves!

turns out the island developed in the early 1700s. someone used this island before as their home and eventually made a huge statue. that person was thinking of creating pirates but they died before they could. eventually, someone in the 1900s found this overgrown island and made use of it. they created pirates in the 2000s that's when the use of this island- for pirates- came. 

I mean yeah the island is kinda beautiful but do you think I wanna learn about this? no!

I don't want to learn about any of this. 

look, I'd rather hang out with Berri all day!... no nevermind...that's a bit of a stretch.

I glanced over to Owen. he looked like he was having a good time right? 

well, she was sketching. I didn't know what she was sketching though. I tried to look over to his paper but it was too much of a risk. 

when I looked back at the teacher and started to actually pay attention she was talking about projects. on the fraction isles.

apparently, we had to go around the fraction isles in groups collecting every ancient thing we could find. then put it on a huge piece of paper and try to work out what it was (if we didn't already know) and what timeline it could possibly be from. 

my team was the worst yet. this project was an All-Student one. which meant you could pair students from different fractions up. 

so I had the worst team ever.

Owen, Toby, Me, Kuervo, Puffy, and Cleo, Graecie

worst team ever.

first of all, Owen and Toby have a huge problem with each other. I and Owen have a huge problem with each other, cleo's an alcoholic, kuervo can't stand people being kind for once, graecie is super kind (which kuervo can't stand), and Puffy's older than all of us. She won't be able to take control of the group though like she was asked.

oh dear god save me. 

after this was our long break as well. so we had a chance to start our project. but kuervo and puffy weren't there so we couldn't. 

so glad that we didn't!
