Today, my mother and I embarked on a journey to The Grand Al Akbar Mosque Tower by motorcycle. Subsequently, we securely parked our vehicle beneath a nearby tree before strolling towards the towering structure. From a distance, the tower resembles an impressive pencil, standing tall at 99 meters. Its facade is adorned with a palette of white, yellow, blue, and a touch of green at its summit.
Before venturing into the tower, we procured entrance tickets, a prerequisite set by the management. Inside, an elevator awaits, ensuring visitors reach the pinnacle without exertion. Upon the elevator doors parting, a mesmerizing panorama unfolds within the secure confines of the glass tube room. The unobstructed view showcases the magnificent dome of The Grand Al Akbar Mosque, providing ample opportunities for visitors to capture these moments through photography.
Moreover, within the center of the tube room, a narrow canteen caters to cravings, offering snacks to ensure no one goes hungry while soaking in the picturesque Surabaya landscape from the tower's zenith. When ready to descend, a simple press of the elevator bell summons the tower staff, who promptly facilitate our return journey to the ground.
Therefore, for those seeking a bird's-eye view of Surabaya, The Grand Al Akbar Mosque Tower offers this experience at a reasonable price. Weekday adult tickets are priced at IDR 7000, with kids' tickets at IDR 5000. On weekends, adult tickets adjust to IDR 10000, while kids' tickets are IDR 6000. Accordingly, to go to the tower, you can head to Masjid Al Akbar Timur Street No. 1, Surabaya. Plan your visit soon to get an unforgettable perspective of the city.
