Diverge ways
Aiden's Pov
"Ouch... ouch... be slow." I screeched in pain as soon as the burning sensation of my cut was wiped with a cotton swab.
"I hope it is hurting enough to realize what you have done or received from doing such an act." Frankie complained while pressing the cotton swab as hard as he could.
"I didn't-" he never let me explain, as from his point of view lies always had an explanation while truths didn't and if you are willing to explain it means you are lying.
"I didn't do that nor did I do this. You never stopped to act as a people's bard though you have an explanation now!" He growled loudly with all his might.
"Sorry, I overdid it. Listen, if friends meant nothing, I wouldn't even care if you would be lying dead in front of me to help people, but I do." His voice resembles pure love of his nature.
"And I'll regret it if I don't bury you." He added and took a glance at me with his devilish smile.
"No wonder you are my friend-"
"By the way, why didn't you tell me about this in the morning?" He furrowed his eyes and stared at me, piercing into me to find answers. He smiled sheepishly, giving me a sly look of 'he knows that my reason was something for what I wouldn't tell him about my wound'.
"Date?" He asked with his jaw a bit clenched and forced his eyes closer to me.
"Fifteenth of June, year two thousand-" he smacked my head with his palm before I could complete.
"I meant it was the date for the reason that you didn't tell me about your injury." He said with his face crumbled into a piece of dustbin.
"Oh." I rubbed my head with my right hand which caused the sudden pain. "Ouch..."
"It's your right hand, silly. Be careful before using your right hand from now on." He said while dipping the cotton swab in the antiseptic again.
"Shit! I'll be late for tomorrow's interview." Immediate terror conquered his face as he stood up from the floor and threw the cotton swab in a disposable plastic bag.
"Interview? Last time when I met you, you seemed like a cashier… Now are you some kind of interviewer?" I chuckled while I rubbed my nose a bit.
"I am still a cashier at 'Bucks and chickens' but through some connections I met up with a company- 'Westridge Enterprises'." His face brightened with hope and glimmer.
"They are hiring part timers for some investigation purpose without judging their qualification."
Hmm... seems like even if he doesn't have a good qualification, he can master a great opportunity and will spend less time with me. No worries, he won't get qualified though.
I chuckled with a slight cough which made him stare at me with his arched brows and curved smile. Almost disappearing. "What? I'll get qualified and prove to you." He said and marched towards the door, slamming it hard over me.
"Huh?" I got up and smiled and opened the door. "You don't mean it. I know. Though I don't mean it too-" he was already gone.
"I think your friend isn't interested in talking much." A familiar voice answered beside the door that I was holding. Mr. Cote appeared out of nowhere from behind the door.
"Huh..." I immediately bent down in honor. It's the thing I do almost everyday. "I think instead of showing such honors you should pay back the rent due for months." His personality is calm and reassuring—that he is generous and friendly—but money makes people go crazy over it, which happened with him too. Just a week ago.
