"Are you ready for practice, Vessel?" he asked, his demeanor quickly changing to an innocent young man as Vessel walked out of the room with him in the hallway. "Time to jam~" the slightly smaller man said in response.
III opened the door to the studio, letting Vessel in first out of courtesy. The drummer (II), guitarist (IV) looked up from their instrument cases to see who came inside.
"Morning, guys~" Vessel said nonchalantly. He smiled, his eyes glancing at his band members, who all smiled back. The drummer (II) sighed, it was going to be a long day again with these idiots.
"Okay, we all know we have a show tonight so let's warm up." vessel said excitedly as they began to play. III's eyes were constantly on Vessel as he sang. The tension was most certainly present between the both of them.
. . .
"Okay, i think that's good enough, we should head out to the van otherwise we are going to be late at the venue." IV said as he packed his guitar up to take with us. Everyone agreed as we headed out. after one long hour we made it to the location, by that time it was already pouring outside.
"Guys you get settled inside, Vessel and I will bring all the equipment indoors!" III said as the others did just that, leaving the two of them alone again. They worked quickly together trying not to get very soaked. when they putted the last box inside the door slammed shut leaving them in the cold.
Nobody was prepared for the sudden cloudburst over Birmingham, although this was England after all. Without hesitation, III firmly grabbed Vessel by the wrist to lead them both out of the downpour. Rainwater splashed under their shoes as they ran down the narrow side passage of the venue, heading toward the canopy-covered backdoor to get them both out of the rain. But when his hand gripped the handle of the backdoor, it was locked as well."Oh for the love of..."
"God dammit, why now of all times!" Vessel said angrily as he kicked a puddle of water.
The rain came down harder and in turn, III cursed at the situation, knowing how uncomfortable and soaked Vessel must be. He turned on the spot, pacing to think of a way out of the mess, but all the alternative exits were locked, too. With his jaw clenched and his fists clenched, a decision had to be made. "Can you stay dry under my arm, you're smaller so it could work?"
"I think, But you will be soaked?" vessel said as he looked up at the slightly taller man.
"It's ok. I'll get used to it." He sighed in his resignation and turned to face Vessel, the water already streaming down his face and getting into his hair. If it meant he could stay dry, at least for a little while, III knew he wouldn't mind. After all, Vessel was right. He looked small in III's shadow, even though he knew the other's 6'2" frame was no shrimp. III was "6'5".
"But what if you catch a cold? You can't be sick, you're the bassist for god's sake." Another sigh as III tried thinking of a way to reassure Vessel. Rain was still soaking them as he looked down at the singer with a sheepish smile.
"What's the worst that can happen? If I get sick, someone can take over." III smirked and Vessel rolled his eyes, muttering something about III's attitude.
"You think to simple. People want you to play, not someone other, plus they wouldn't know the chords. it would be awful and everything would be ruined."
"Fine." III knew Vessel was right. He was too simple minded about the situation but all he could think about was keeping the singer warm and dry. It was an opportunity to get closer to him, to keep him close and safe. III shrugged his shoulders again and looked down at the rain falling. "Oh well. It's too late to do anything about it now."
