A German knight seeking redemption, Siegfried is a tragic hero of a tragic past. The accidental murder of his own father drove him mad, tempting him to use Soul Edge and transforming into the Azure knight, Nightmare.
After regaining his humanity, Siegfried resurfaced as a completely different person, full of guilt and mental scars. Seeking redemption for his atrocities, he becomes Hell-bent on destroying Soul Edge so that no one repeats his mistakes.
