//Okay so this story takes place after training and when they join the Survey Corps. Also, Marco stays alive in my story because Marco was amazing and did NOT deserve to die. Okay, on to the first chapter my lovelies
~Flashback~
"Mommy! Look! I found some flowers for Daddy." I said, picking up a bunch of flowers and running up to my Mother. She looked down at me and held my free hand, a single tear running down her cheek and a small sad smile being forced on her lips. I cocked my head to the side. "Mommy what's wrong?" I asked, curiosity overpowering my innocent 8 year old mind.
"Daddy isn't going to be around for a while." She says, bending down to my height and holding my hand with both of hers.
"Why? Where has he gone Mommy?"
"Daddy passed away. He died protecting us. He's in a better place now." Mother says. I stare in shock at my Mother. Tears fell down my cheeks rapidly as I dropped the flowers I carried and yanked my hand from her grip. I slid against the wall, holding my head in my hands and sobbing. My Mother sighed and picked me up, carrying us home.We were a small distance away from the house when we heard a blood-curdling scream.
"TITANS!" I looked to my Mother in fear. She quickly put me down, held my hand and ran to our house, dragging me behind her. We got there to see a Titan had destroyed it. My mother was stuck in such a state of despair that she did not notice the titan walking towards us, arms extended, until it was too late and she was in the titan's tight grip. She looked at me in fear. She uttered just one word before she was eaten whole right before my terrified eyes, some of her blood landing on my face. "RUN!". And that's exactly what I did. I ran, not for my safety but for the safety of the only three people I had left. My best friends. Eren, Armin and Mikasa. I knew where they would be. The boat. I ran and pushed through the crowd till I found them. Eren and Armin looked at each other in fear.
I exchanged one look with Mikasa, one in which I silently told her that I was done with everything. That I could no longer feel anything but anger or despair. I was done. Done with this shitty society we live in. Done with everything, yes, but also nothing. Because at that precise moment, I realised. Apart from the three who stood by me, I had nothing left to care for.
~Present Day~
Today's the day. Today's the day we choose our regiments. Today's the day we decide our future. My choice was obvious, the Scout regiment. I mean it seemed like the smartest choice; the Military Police are just a bunch of stuck up brats, and it's not like dying in battle in the Scouts is something I'm scared of; I don't necessarily care if I die. I'm also highly skilled, top of my class (even higher than Mikasa). The Military Police begged me to go to their regiment but, me being me, I politely denied (in other words, I told them that they were stuck-up brats and could stick their Military Police where the sun doesn't shine).
~Skip Erwin's speech~
After commander Erwin's speech, few of us remained. But those that did were Me, Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Marco (he stays alive in my story btw so shh), Sasha and a few others. In all honesty, I was surprised.
For the first time in months (years even?), I felt something. Pride. Pride in my comrades, and most importantly, pride in my new (and old) friends.
