I am a clean person. A very clean person. The main reason? I'm not sure. But I think it has something to do with the fact that, ever since that day, the feeling of my Mother's blood on me stayed with me, making me feel a constant need to be clean. Deep, I know. You never know though, it may not be... I'm just say that it most likely is.
To be honest though, I'm not sure about most things anymore. All I know is that I don't have many feelings anymore. I don't even have many friends anymore, and the only ones I do have I hardly talk to. Most of the time I just sit at the end on my own. But I prefer it that way.
Lately (well, ever since that day) I've kept an emotionless front. My face has no expression, my voice is always either aggressive or monotone. But if you look close enough, you can see all the pain and sorrow I've been fighting so hard to hide.
It's been a week since we've joined the Scouts, and today we're being put into our squads. My skills have vastly improved, and I'm what they call a 'cold-hearted killer'. I don't let emotion get the best of me, so my skills and techniques are very adept. A lot of it is the fact that I've always been very gifted in fighting.
The squads were either with Corporal Levi, Hanji (who is now probably one of my best friends, and one of the only people who know everything about my story), Mike or Commander Erwin. Honestly, I didn't mind who I got. Secretly though, I hoped for the Special Operations Squad (Squad Levi) because Levi and I were very alike in our actions and methods. Plus he was clean too, so I wouldn't need to worry. But most people didn't get in Squad Levi, as he hand picked his squad himself, and only the most skilled were able to join.
They called out our names and told us the squad we were to join one by one. Then it was my turn.
"Cadet (F/N) (L/N). You are to join Squad Levi." I nodded and walked towards Corporal Levi, nodding to him as I walked behind him and stood, getting a nod back. I hadn't really spoke to him much, but I think we both had a mutual respect for each other.
"Welcome to my squad, Cadet (L/N)." I was the only one to join the squad, besides Eren (for obvious reasons he had no choice and it was already determined when we came here, being a titan-shifter and all, so he had no need to attend).
"Thank you, Corporal." I respond. "But I must ask if I may get back to training." I say in monotone.
"I agree. You are dismissed." He says, waving his hand in dismissal. I nod in appreciation, giving the standard salute before excusing myself back outside where I went to the stables. I needed to tame my horse and get used to it, and now was the perfect opportunity.~Some hours later~
(Time skip brought to you reluctantly by Mr. Clean)
I had developed a bond with my horse, which I named Midnight (due to it being black). I had gotten used to him, and him me. It was close to 9pm now, so I led Midnight back to the stables and handed her over to a fellow cadet. They could take care of him from there.
It was too early to go to bed yet since curfew was 1am. So I decided to do some cleaning. No doubt nobody cleaned the cafeteria.
I walked in the cafeteria to see Levi in there cleaning. He looked to me in a questioning manner.
"Cadet (L/N), what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in your dorm?"
"Corporal, curfew is not until 1am and it is currently only 9:30pm; too early to sleep. Therefore I thought I would clean since I presumed no one else would (despite any orders you had placed)." Levi nodded in respect.
"Thank you cadet, and least someone here isn't a complete filthy brat who cannot clean. I appreciate you helping." I nodded, thanking him then getting to work on scrubbing the kitchen down from top to bottom, Levi cleaning the mess hall. We finished at around midnight at roughly the same time. We both decided to check and go over each other's work since we had an hour till curfew. Only to realise that the other's cleaning was just as impeccable.
"Finally, someone who can actually clean. And to my standards." He says, seemingly impressed.
"Thank you Corporal, and same to you. But we still have an hour until curfew and I'd rather not go to my dorm. Is there anywhere else to clean?" I ask. He shakes his head.
"Not enough time, you can do that tomorrow. I have paper work to do so I must be going, however you could help me with that if you would like." He says in monotone. I nod. "Thank you sir. Your office, I presume?" He nods. "Lead the way captain."
