Sophie
Sophie stared at Marella's wanderling. It was small with twisted bark, but the leaves were big, round, and ice-blue. She had been coming here a lot, thinking about everything she could have done differently.
"Sophie?"
Sophie squealed and turned around, Stina was watching her.
"Stina?" Sophie asked, wondering why Stina would come here. She and Stina would never be best friends but they got on pretty well after Marella's death and their final battle with the Neverseen.
"Why are you here?" Sophie asked. Stina shrugged, "I came here to see Marella's wanderling, we were friends, you know." Stina and Marella were friends before Sophie had made up with Marella. Sophie turned back to staring at the tree, "Yeah, do you come here often?" Stina stood beside Sophie, "I've been coming here since the planting, I just wish..." We could go back in time, Sophie thought, knowing Stina was probably thinking something along those lines.
Stina sighed, "It won't make it better, coming here. It'll make us mourn her more." "But she deserves to be mourned," Sophie said, picking up a fallen ice-blue leaf. "She does," Stina agreed, "But we need to move on, and no, that doesn't mean forget her, because I will never forget Marella. But we need to move on with our lives, we can still live, still have fun, still have hope." "It doesn't feel like it," Sophie mumbled. "Come on, your Sophie Foster, where's your determination? Are you really letting ME of all people give you a pep talk?" Stina asked, shaking Sophie's shoulders. Sophie stared at Stina, she was letting Stina give her a pep talk, which meant she must have been REALLY mopey.
Stina smiled, "Quoting Keefe; there's the foster we all know and love." Sophie nodded, taking one last look at Marella's wanderingly before raising her crystal to the light, "Thanks Stina."
"Don't mention it. But like seriously, don't mention it...to anyone!"
Sophie laughed and leaped home, a newfound fire inside of her.
