Now
As Shoyo had promised, he biked over to your house on Saturday to check up on you and bring you some things. He got you your favourite food and was in a cheerful mood.
That was until from some bushes, someone had pulled him in and covered his mouth. Was he getting kidnapped?! Oh! Never mind, it was just you. No need to worry.
"Shh! We're gonna sneak into my room, k? I wanted to warn you before you met them," you said."Who's them?" Never mind, there was a need to worry because who were you talking about?
"It's fine, okay? It's just my brothers — I'll explain when we get inside, alright? Come on."You took Shoyo's hand, leaving his bike behind the bushes and led him toward your rooms window. He blushed violently the whole time just by having your hand in his. He was screaming internally, kicking his feet and screaming, the whole shebang.
When you let go to climb up into your window, Shoyo missed your bodies warmth. You were driving him insane. How lucky could he get?
"Shoyo!" You whispered at him.
He shook his head and looked up at you.
"Huh?" He'd gotten so lost in thought of you he totally forgot why you were sneaking him in."Oh, right! Sorry!" He climbed in after you and landed very gracefully in your opinion. Shoyo fell to the ground with a thump and you tried to stifle your laugh. "Not funny!" He whispered at you. "That hurt!" He pouted, rubbing his head.
"Aww," you cooed and crouched down to pat his head. "Do you want an ice pack?" Shoyo knew you were teasing and knew he was most definitely blushing so he looked away in a huff.
"Come on Red, get up." Shoyo gladly took your hand, happy to hold on to you for even a moment. You sighed, "so yeah, I've got some things to say." Worry began to stir in Shoyo now, were you okay? Did something happen?
"Ok," he said. "I'm listening."Up against your bed, you sat with Shoyo in front of you, playing with his hands. If this were happening under different circumstances, Shoyo would probably be freaking out and red-faced, but the look of anxiety on your face made him feel sick in the stomach.
"So you know about my exes, right?" There was no need to really ask, you'd already told Shoyo when you were first getting to know him, but you just needed to confirm.
Shoyo nodded. He knew it was a majorly touchy subject. Every bit of him wish you never had to feel that way and he sometimes wished he could have met you way earlier."Well, uh, my brothers — they've always been pretty protective of me. They um...well my dad let it slip that I have a boyfriend. He didn't even notice what he'd done. Sora was pissed...more worried I guess. That's what Shig told me and I know that but-but, why does he have to show it like that, you know?"
Shoyo rubbed his thumb over your hand softly, not saying a word but fully paying attention to you. His heart broke as you began to cry. People didn't know this about you as you often put up a tough front, but you cried easily. Each time Shoyo saw, it never got easier to bare.
"It just fucking pissed me off," you sobbed. "He can be so damn mean. He doesn't know you like I know you. Why does he have to fucking assume? I mean fuck, I know why he does but it's just not fair. It doesn't feel fair."
"You don't have to cry," he told you, wiping away your tears. He was smiling softly at you and you stared back at him with pure admiration and love. "I know it doesn't feel fair but don't worry, I'll just have to prove to him that he doesn't have anything to worry about!"
His total enthusiasm and determination made you laugh. He was so damn cute.
"Will you?" You asked.
"Of course!" His smile was so radiant and his energy made you laugh once more. You got silent for a moment for saying "Shoyo, I really like you." You meant every word.
He blushed furiously. "I um-I uh-I like you too!" He also meant every word.
You giggled at his nervous behaviour and pulled him into a hug that he happily accepted, holding you close and fully taking in your sweet scent. When you pulled away, Shoyo wished you hadn't. If he could, he'd choose the option to hold you forever.
"Ok," you said breathing out. "I think I'm feeling better now."
"That's good," Shoyo told you. "Cause I think I'm gonna throw up."
At this, you laughed. As confident as he was, Shoyo's anxieties always betrayed him.End of chapter 5
