Before

It was getting bad, really bad. Your dad didn't know what to do anymore, he couldn't handle this alone so he called your brothers. They came back from where they lived, somewhere in Tokyo where they sold smokes on the street to get by.

It was an ambush, at least that's what it felt like on your part. They were there when you got home from your job at the record store, all with serious looks on their faces. You knew what was about to happen.

Scoffing, you threw your bag on the couch near by. "The fuck are you guys doing here?"
"Y/n—."
"No!" You said, interrupting your father. "Why did you call them?!" His heart broke at the look of betrayal on your face but you just weren't listening to him anymore.

"Hey!" Sora made you back up away from your father. He looked pissed, but fuck was he worried about you. Taking the soft approach didn't often work with you, at least not at first, so Sora took the lead. "Watch your tongue."

"You don't live here anymore!" You spat at him. "Why the fuck should I listen to you?! Huh?" You pushed Sora's chest hard. You were strong but he was stronger.

He grabbed your wrists to stop you and wore a blank face to conceal how he was really feeling as you squirmed in his grip. He saw the hot tears running down your face and let you weakly take all of your pain out on him.

His grip loosened and then you were on your knees hitting him in the legs repeatedly.
"Just go!" You screamed. "Leave! I don't fucking need you!" You were hysterically crying at this point, chest heaving, flushed all over.

Shig, who was often a little bit better at handling you than Sora was, slowly started walking over to you and crouched down to your level. He could see how exhausted you were. You'd stopped hitting Sora and just cried now, painful and tried cries.

He took a piece of your hair and tucked it behind your ear. He wiped some tears from your cheeks and spoke the next few words softly and with much love as he could.
"Bug, what's going on with you?" The sound of the nickname your brothers had always liked to use for you hit you like a fucking brick.

You began crying again, more and more, unable to stop, screaming, completely losing it. Your families worry was increasing. They began talking but all their words sounded mumbled to you. They weren't prepared for you to stumble to the door and make a desperate escape — from everything.

"Shit, Sora! Get the car!" Sora acted fast at his dad's instructions and Shig followed after. The three of them, your two brothers and your dad hoped in the car and drove down the street. You'd always been a fast runner and it was no surprise that it proved difficult to catch up with you, especially because you knew your way around.

As your family continued to freak out over where you could have run off to, you turned down another street and ran to one of your best hiding spots. There, you tried to stop yourself from crying so much, repeatedly hitting yourself in the head saying "stop, stop, stop." It wasn't working. You couldn't stop fucking crying.

Where was he? You wanted him, you needed him to make you feel better — to hurt you so you'd be distracted from all your darkest thoughts. There was no other way, this was how you would feel better again. If he hit you, just even once, then maybe you could make it through another week.

"Dad, pull over, I'll drive." Sora said, seeing as your father didn't look to be doing so good. He was crying, wondering where his girl was.
"I can't save her," he sobbed, "I can't do it."
Neither Shig nor Sora knew what to say, they just let their dad cry.

They thought up of a few places you could be as after all, they'd lived here once too. Sora took over the driving part while Shig and your dad looked both left and right trying to find any sight of you, even going as far to ask people if they'd seen you running around.

It was beginning to get late, the sun was setting and there was no sight of you. They were beginning to feel hopeless, but there was no fucking way they were giving up. None of them would ever forgive themselves if something were to happen to you.

So they kept looking. They didn't want to get the police involved just yet, they knew if they did that you'd only resist even more. They wanted you to trust them, but if they couldn't find you any time soon, they just needed to know that you were safe.
