"Hey, uh, Tobes? Could I.. sleepover at your house?" Jim felt nervous. He had to keep an eye on Toby and the amulet. "Sure! Just ask your mom, though. It depends on her. Wanna play Go Go Sushi if your mom allows you?"
Jim nods. The two of them first head to his house. Barbara had already gone home. Jim knocks and opens the door. "Hey, mom! Could I sleep over at Toby's?"
"Jim?" Barbara gasped and checked the door. "Oh, what was that?"
"Could I sleep over at Toby's?"
"I was actually going to ask you to sleep over at his house. I have an online seminar tonight, and I need the house to be as quiet as can be. You kids better go now. It's getting late." She kisses Jim's forehead.
He and Toby head to his house. He opened the door and they entered. "Nana! I'm home! Jim's with me!" He shouts.
"Toby pie? Come here in the kitchen! Dinner is set!"
Jim snorted when his Nana called him 'Toby pie'.
"Don't laugh, Jimbo. It's not like your mom doesn't call you nicknames." He chuckles. Jim and Toby head to the kitchen where Nana was. She had already sat down. "Eat as much as you like, Jimmy!" She giggles.
Toby spit his water as he heard the nickname his nana called Jim. He then leaned to him and tried to hold his laughter.
"Looks like I'm not the only one she gives silly nicknames to." He teases him.
The two friends sat down and started eating.
"Better than chef Jim's cooking?" Toby smirked at him. "Please, I could do be-"
Jim didn't want to hurt nana's feelings on her cooking. "I could burn the food I'm cooking!" He lied.
They all continued to eat.
As they finished eating, the two of them started to wash the dishes.
Once they completed washing the dishes, Toby sat on the couch and turned on the television. "I'll be in my room, Toby pie!"
"Got that, nana!"
Toby was rapidly switching channels. "Ugh. They removed Gun Robot! Just because there was an animation error?" He groaned.
"Don't worry, Tobes. Maybe we could do our homework?"
"Oh, right! The essay! It's due tomorrow!" He rushed to his bedroom to get his laptop and ran down the stairs. "Señor Uhl is gonna kill me!"
"Don't panic. You've got the whole night to do it. I already did mine." Jim then sat down on the couch. Toby plugged in his headphones and wore it.
As Jim stared at the television, he noticed the amulet. Quietly, he grabbed it from Toby's bag. He embraced it once again. Just like before, memories flashed back. It hurt him.
Jim looked around, then back at the amulet. He opened his mouth and started to recite the incantation. "For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command."
The amulet didn't respond. The only thing it did was glow. He recited it again: "For the glory of Merlin, daylight is mine to command!"
Over and over again, Jim recited it. It didn't do anything. Toby couldn't hear anything. The loud music he was playing through his headphones blocked Jim's recitation of the incantation.
"For..The power- Glory.. of Merlin.." Jim started to tear up a bit. He didn't want to become the Trollhunter again, but he felt a magnet that was pulling towards him his Trollhunter fate.
He had already been used to saving the world with his armor and his sword. But it fell into the hands of his best friend, Toby.
The world could be in danger when the Titans rise. Toby wouldn't be strong enough.
As Jim continued to recite the incantation repeatedly, two trolls had been spying on them. One had blue hair, six eyes, an orange nose, and four arms. The other one was big and had green hair. Blinky and Aaarrrgghh. They were listening to Jim.
"How could that human know the incantation of the amulet? Wasn't Master Toby the one that was chosen?" Blinky leaned and asked himself, confused.
Aaarrrgghh grunted. Blinky continued to listen to Jim.
Toby continuously typed on the keyboard. Attempting to finish his essay. For it was due tomorrow.
The night went on. Jim grew tired of reciting. Toby drank three glasses of coffee just to stay awake and finish his assignment. It was now the time. Blinky barged into the house and gave a big, wide smile. He and Aaarrrgghh walked to Toby.
"Master Toby!" He exclaimed. Toby jumped up from his seat and fell on the ground. And Jim stood there in shock. The sight of Blinky made him joyous. Toby's reaction? Fear.
"Ah, master Toby! You have been chosen to weild the fate of the Trollhunter!"
"What is that thing?!" Toby screamed. He crawled fast on the ground. Aaarrrgghh surrounded him.
"Hm, your human friend doesn't seem to be afraid of us." Blinky turned to Jim. Aaarrrgghh grunted and slowly opened his mouth. "Trollhunter?" His deep, raspy voice went through Toby's ears.
"Of course that's the Trollhunter, Aaarrrgghh! Apologies master Toby, for the sudden intrude. I am Blinky. Your teacher in training to be a Trollhunter!"
"Whaaa-" Toby then fainted. He couldn't believe his eyes. The two trolls turned to Jim.
"Why are you not afraid? Shouldn't humans be afraid of unusual creatures?" Blinky asked.
"Let's just say, I know you guys."
