Carina could say that the last few hours weren't terrible, but that would be a lie. First she was caught with Harry and Hermione when they were returning from the grounds after meeting Charlie.

And miraculously, McGonagall believed that she was not involved in the false prank that they had tricked Malfoy about a dragon at Hogwarts.

However, Filch, may the odds be in his favour, opened his mouth to the Gryffindor headmistress and told her that Carina was talking to the first year pair, instead of punishing them for wandering around the castle at dawn, so she ended up getting detention too.

Carina usually don't care much about detention. She was the daughter of Sirius Black and goddaughter of James Potter, and she had her share of punishment over the years.

But, perhaps because of all the stress she has been going through with her life as a demigod, the mysterious dreams — and the lack of sleep, the almost kiss with Poseidon, she simply freaked out when she was taken to Professor McGonagall's office, even more so due to the fact that She tried her best that year to avoid getting any detention, even avoiding answering Snape a few times.

"Harry!" Neville Longbottom interrupted the teacher. "I was trying to find you to warn you, I heard Malfoy saying he was going to catch you, he said you had a drag–" Harry shook his head violently to shut Neville up, but Professor McGonagall had seen it.

She looked more likely to breathe fire than Norbert as she towered over the three of them. "I would never have believed it any of you. Mr Filch says you were up the astronomy tower. It's one o'clock in the morning. Explain yourselves."

It was the first time Hermione had ever failed to answer a teacher's question. She was staring at her slippers, as still as a statue. "Carina, you are older, and to make your situation worse, you are a prefect... I hope you have a good reason for not fulfilling your duties." The teacher gave him a hard, slightly disappointed look. "I think I've got a good idea of what's been going on." said Professor McGonagall. "You don't have to be a genius. They made up a convincing story about some dragon on the grounds to try and get Malfoy in trouble." McGonagall looked at Hermione, as if expecting her to crack under pressure. "Was deceiving Neville in the plans too, Potter?"

Her gaze then hovered over Carina again, Minerva's lips pressed into a thin line. "Black, I expected more from you. I don't think I would participate in a story as silly as this, but you should know that your duty as a prefect is to prevent events like this. Lupin can expect a letter from me in the morning."
