"Thanks again, Alex," I said as we pulled into my driveway.

"No problem," he said, " Do you want me to come in with you?" We looked toward the house. The lights were on in the front, so we both knew someone was up.

"Actually, could you?" I asked turning towards him.

"Yeah. Of course, then I can ask them if you can go to the event." He said, unbuckling the seat belt.

"Actually, maybe you shouldn't," I said grabbing his arm.

"Come on Brianna, it'll be fine." He shook off my arm and opened his door. I sighed then opened my own door following him. HE had my bag slung over his shoulder and a smirk plastered on his. I glared at him and began my way to the front door. Before I could even touch the doorknob, the door swung open. Revealing a very pissed off looking older brother.

"You're late,"he said crossing his arms.

"Not by that much," I said pulling out my phone, "Only by twelve minutes." He watched me carefully and then fixed his gaze over my shoulder. Alex stepped forward and put his hand at the small of my back.

"Hey Tony," He said calmly.

"Was she with you?" He asked. "Is he the reason you're so late?" He asked turning to me.

"Come on, Tony," Alex said, "lighten up." Tony shot a glare at Alex before turning back to me.

"Answer me Brianna," Tony said.

"Well... yes, but he just picked me up. I was doing a project and it was too late to catch a bus and Alex was nearby so I just called him for a ride." Tony watched me carefully to see if I was lying to him, which I technically wasn't. He nodded his head then jerked it towards Alex.

"What's he still doing here then?"

"We have something to ask you," Alex said slipping his hand around to rest on my waist.

"No," Tony said, eyes going hard and cold.

"He's kidding Tony," I said moving Alex's hand, "But we do have to ask you and mother something." Tony looked at us for a good minute before letting us into the house.

"Mother," Tony called, "Brianna's home and she has something to ask us." We went into the living room and sat on the couches waiting for my mother to come in. We were all sitting on different couches. Tony was on the big couch while Alex was on the loveseat and I was on the recliner. Alex was across from me while Tony was to my left.

Alex was smirking leaning back on the chair. I was glaring at him, but he was avoiding my gaze. Tony wouldn't look at either of us, so he kept his eyes on his phone. Finally my mother walked in, we all stood.

She greeted me first with a kiss on the cheek, then nodding at Tony. Then she moved on to Alex hugging him and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Then she sat down on the couch next to tony and we all sat.

"Hello Ms. Gutierrez, how are you?" Alex said, kissing ass. Mother let out an airy laugh and I kept a polite smile on my face.

"Please Alexander, call me Olivia," she said crossing one leg over the other. Alex flinched slightly at his name, but you couldn't really tell.

"I'm doing well dear, how's your mother?" Alex grinned, he found his opening.

"She's doing well. She's putting on another charity ball, currently." My mother sat up, expecting an invitation.

"Really? How's that going?"about

"Very well, I'm actually here to talk to you about it." He said glancing over at me.
