Elaya's POV:

The night passed agonizingly slow, and my thoughts continued to revolve around the unresolved questions. As the first gentle rays of morning penetrated through my window, I found myself in a state between exhaustion and inner restlessness.

The experiences of the past hours had torn a deep rift in my emotional world, and I faced the challenge of dealing with the consequences. The room, which had previously seemed so secure and familiar, now appeared as a labyrinth of uncertainties.

A knock on my bedroom door interrupted my thoughts. Hesitantly, I opened it to see Thy before me, his expression marked by fatigue and remorse.

"Elaya, I..." he began, but his words dissipated into the air.

I looked at him in silence; the words of apology were not enough to dispel the confusion. Uncertainty and pain hung in the air.

"I know I've made mistakes," he finally said, his gaze seeking mine. "But I want you to understand that it's not easy for me to protect you. Things are complicated, and I... I'm doing my best."

A shadow of doubt flickered across his face, and I sensed that it wasn't just my own confusion that separated us.

"Thy, I need clarity," I said softly, the desire for understanding urging me on. "What is between us? Why are you acting so contradictory?"

He sighed heavily. "Elaya, there are things I can't disclose. But believe me, I'm doing what I think is right, even if it's hard to understand."

The walls between us seemed insurmountable, and I grappled with the uncertainty that gripped my heart. "I want the truth, Thy. No matter how complicated it is."

Thy lowered his gaze and seemed to hesitate for a moment. "The truth could change everything, Elaya. Including you."

The words hung in the air, and the tension between us was palpable. The decision of whether I wanted to know the truth became a turning point that could determine our fate.

"Please go..." I whispered.

Thy lowered his gaze as if carrying a burden on his shoulders. The silence between us was hard to bear, and I felt the uncertainty within me expanding into a burdensome weight.

"Elaya, I understand that you're looking for answers," Thy began with a hint of desperation. "But there are things I can't reveal. If I did, not only my life but also yours would be changed forever."

The words echoed in my head, and a cold shiver ran through my body. Thy's eyes held a firm determination but also the agony of a secret.

"Please let me protect you, even if it means you remain in the dark," he pleaded, his voice tinged with desperation.

"Thy, you don't understand. It's about my father who might still be alive," I said with tears in my eyes.

"Elaya..." he sighed only.

The weight of the revelation hung between us, and Thy's eyes showed a mixture of compassion and despair. A oppressive silence spread as the words "might still be alive" lingered in the air like a dark secret.

"Elaya, it's more complicated than you think," Thy murmured, his forehead furrowed deeply. "I wanted to protect you, but there are things I can't disclose, even if it's for your well-being."

The tears gathering in my eyes were overlaid by anger at this opaque situation. "Thy, my father has been missing for years. If there's even a slight chance he's still alive, I need to know the truth. I can't remain in the dark."

He looked deep into my eyes, and for a moment, the conflict of his emotions seemed visible. "Elaya, I understand your pain, but the truth could put not only you but both of us in danger."

The words struck like a blow, and the reality of the danger began to settle in my consciousness. "I'm willing to take this risk, Thy. My search for my father means more to me than anything else."

Thy nodded slowly, as if grasping the gravity of my decision. "If you want to know the truth, be prepared that nothing will be the same as it was."

With that, Thy left my room.

---

While getting ready for the day in the bathroom, Thy's words kept swirling in my mind. The desire for answers drove me, even as the fear of possible consequences grew.

After leaving my room, I encountered Thy in the hallway. His gaze was determined, but the invisible distance between us was intensified by unspoken secrets.

"Elaya, I..." Thy began, but I interrupted him.

"Leave me alone."

We parted for the moment, and as I descended the stairs, my gaze fell on Thy's sister sitting in the kitchen.

"Elaya, you look like you could use some distraction. How about a shopping day?" she suggested with an encouraging smile.

Thy, sitting at the table and staring into his coffee, briefly grimaced but seemed to have no objections.

I hesitated for a moment before agreeing, "Perhaps that's a good idea. A little distraction wouldn't hurt."

As we set out, I felt Thy's reluctant approval. His gaze revealed that he wrestled with his own thoughts, and the tension between us remained palpable.

During breakfast, Thy and I exchanged only a few words. As his sister got ready and went outside, Thy seemed to seize the moment and briefly held my arm before the door. "Please take care of yourself, my princess," he expressed concern. I just smiled.

Unexpectedly, he cupped my face in his hands and planted a kiss on my forehead. I blushed, and my silly grin gave me away. He chuckled amusedly. Jerk!

With a slight blush, I left the house, Thy's unusual gesture lingering in my mind. The shopping day with his sister was meant to bring distraction, but the secrets and the longing for the truth hung over me like a shadow.

Soooo, what do we think about Thy now?

And is her father still alive? Hm? 💞🧐
