"No matter what that test says you belong in Dauntless." My mother kissed my head as my father stood proudly behind her.

"Even if I get divergent like you two?"

"Yes even if you get divergent. You've been training in the fields since you were 8. You've been working your ass off to be the strongest. And let's be honest, you don't have a kind bone in your body." My father ruffles my hair. "Amity isn't where you belong."

"Okay fine but when I get back after the test I want a movie night." They pulled me into a group hug before I left for the bus that will take me to the hub.

Most of the other 18 year olds of Amity talked with each other, mostly passing each other compliments.

When the bus stopped in front of the hub, I was one of the first ones off. I went inside and took a seat as I waited for my name to be called.

I was sitting there for what felt like hours before my name was called.

"Azar Kane." I stand up and go inside the room. "Have a seat." I sit in the testing chair and the man hands me a glass of blue liquid.

I side eye the man before discreetly sniffing it. When there is no scent I drink it and hand him the glass before I lay back.

I shut my eyes.

——

I open my eyes and find myself in a glass room. I stand up and my reflection follows.

"Damn." I look at myself in the reflection. "Yellow does not look good on me." The reflection laughs and I tilt my head. "Gotcha." The rest of the reflections disappear.

"Choose." The reflection motions to a dead mouse and what looks to be a whistle. I look at them both.

"No." The reflection tilts its own head.

"Tick Tock. Time is running out." I look back at the options before a third one appears. It's a bat.

"Just what I was thinking." I grab the bat. The dead mouse and whistle disappear as a growl sounds through the room.

I look around and see a hungry looking tiger. I look down at the bat in my hand and nails slowly start to protrude from it. I smirk as the tiger starts to run at me.

I grip the bat and ready it over my shoulder.

It pounces with its mouth open and I swing the bat, hitting it in its face. It rolls to the side by the force I put behind it. It gets back to its feet growling. It starts to circle me.

"Awe look at the kitten." Both the tiger and I's attention go to the side and I see a little boy looking at the tiger in fascination. The tiger starts prowling in his direction.

"I'm gonna shoot this over grown feline." I raise the bat to hit it over the head. It takes off running towards the boy as I feel a weight in the side of my pants. I look down and see a gun. I grab it and shoot the tiger down.

I blink and the scenery changes. I look at my hands and see that they're empty, not holding the gun or bat.

I look around and see I'm in an alley. I begin walking when I heard a scream.

"Help! Please someone help me!" I run in the direction of the screaming. I turn the corner and see two men holding down a woman as the third smacks her.

"Shut up!" The man begins to rip off her pants and I run towards him. I pull him off the woman and begin punching in his face. I was pulled off and I elbowed the person in the face. I flip him over my shoulder and twist his arm. I kick his elbow hard, breaking it.

"You bitch!" The first and third guys attack at the same time. I dodge the fists causing them to hit each other. I grab both of their arms and pull, causing them to collide together, knocking them out.

I walk over to the woman and help put her pants back on.

"Thank you!" The woman was crying.

"It's no problem. Let's get out of here."

————

I blink my eyes open and the man looks at me shocked. I sit up and tilt my head at him.

"What are my results?"

"How did you do that?" His eyes were wide and he looked frightened.

"Well when you twist a limb and then kick out the bone that holds it together. You will break i-"

"Not that! How did you conjure up a bat and a gun?!" I shrug and try to look at his computer screen.

"What are my results?"

"Dauntless for fucking sure." I nod and stand up from the chair. "Do you seriously have no idea how you did that?"

"I thought of a bat and it appeared as a choice. I thought of a gun to shoot the tiger and it appeared in my waistband. There wasn't much else to it." I shrug again before pointing at the door. "Am I free to go?"

"Yeah. I mean yes. Yes you're free to go." I nod and leave.

Third person pov

The man who administered Azar's test immediately pulled out his phone and called Janine Matthew's.

"Another divergent?" Was her immediate question when she answered the phone.

"Far from it."
